  • Garage Phased Build

    Hey All,

I have been thinking about a garage build and was thinking about doing it in phases. Starting with just an ipad with Skytrak and hitting net or impact screen and then moving on to a projector and dedicated PC. My first question is, would something like this work on a u-shaped track? https://www.golfswingsystems.co.uk/w...14/10/rjsm.jpg. It's an archery net that can be mounted on a track.

I am trying to figure out a non-permanent setup of hitting into the back of my garage bay. Something like this on a track could be stored on the side of the garage when not in use. Would a setup like this also work as a projection screen if I added a projector later?

Has anyone done a similar setup and if so, can you share the track and netting/impact screen you used?

Is there anything else I should consider?

    Thanks.

OK, I had a garage door guy come out today and it looks like I will be able to raise my garage door tracks enough to make my garage build work. Right now, it looks like my workable dimensions are 10' wide by 8.5' high for the screen hitting area. My total ceiling height in 9.5' high and I will be hitting from approximately 9.5' away. Originally I was going to add the projector later but now I am thinking I just do it all at once. Given my workable screen size, am I best to go with a 4:3 aspect ratio? How far away should the projector be from the screen? I want it somewhere that I don't risk hitting it on a swing. Thanks.

Just ordered my three sided power retracting Sportscreen from Par2Pro and side netting and the garage parts should be here in two weeks or so to raise the horizontal tracks 20" and utilize a wall mount garage door opener. Now have my eye out for a used or sale Skytrak and looking at my turf options. Looking at the Optoma X416 XGA projector since I will be working with a 4:3 aspect ratio and have my eye on this PC: https://www.microcenter.com/product/...-computer?ob=1

I gave up on the phased build approach and am just going to go all in.
