What Im working with

Hello all,

Im new to the forums. I will be doing a simulator build in a couple of phases. Phase 1 is taking advantage of the current sale on Skytrak(300.00 off) and bought the package that includes the Net Return Home, 6x6 real turf hittinig surface and the WGT 1 year. My main focus is to improve my game and teach my 2 youngest kids the game. So this is area I am working with. I will frame and enclose the area with typical 2x4 framing and siding that matches the house. Anyway some before pictures and Im definitely interested an any suggestions you have as it is a bit of a blank canvas

It's a prefect sized space. I recently dug out part of my basement to get 10' of ceiling clearance, and the space is 12x20. It's a tiny bit tight, but once I got used to it I never thought of it again.

Thats great to know. the 10' is the lowest point. I think I will leave the ceiling as is although I might paint it and that would give me like 11.5' between the rafters. One thing I am a little concerned about is the slope away from the house. I could either build a subfloor or simply level the hitting/skytrak surface.

Thats funny you should post cal, I did see your build and it is very much the direction I will be going. I am also in Louisiana No basements for us!

You'll want a level floor in that space. In my previous garage I had 9.5 feet of clearance and I would occasionally scrape the ceiling with my driver, but it was always after my follow through with no speed on the club. I am 6'1" tall.

Thanks jrz. I think I agree with you. Even with a fairly large subfloor I believe I will still have 11 feetish in the middle between the joists in the picture. Im also 6'1" so it sounds like I will be fine

Phase 1 boys! Phase 1.5 will include a subfloor and possibly a TV
