I am in the last part of planning my simulator room and I was hoping for some feedback from everyone on my screen. I am getting a Carls Premium screen, and will mount it 1' from my back wall shown in this picture. The impact screen area is 10'2" wide, and is 7'7" when it starts to angle in.
Would you recommend I get the 10' x 7.7" (one of the premium screen sizes from carls is 10' x 7.7"...a perfect fit for my space) screen and just have it fit nicely in that rectangular area? This leaves a larger gap up above the impact screen. Or, should I get a little creative and get a 10' x 8.5' screen and have it cut off slightly at the top right and top left corners? I am not sure how much projection display I would lose, but it would give me a bit more height.
In either case, what would you recommend doing in that area above the screen? I am thinking of using some black fabric (same color as the curtains I am installing on each wall to cover the windows that will just cover that whole area and make it black.
I am putting Trueturf on the whole floor, making it a big putting green with 4 holes. At my strike zone I am cutting out a 12" x 24" rectangle in the floor and putting in a gel mat, so I will have a real feel striking zone that is completely flush with my putting green. I am using one roll of Truetuft, so that will be the same material for the putting area and the hitting zone. I have ordered a GC2, and I am doing final research on the projector and computer now.
Any help would be appreciated from you experts.
Thanks.
