Does anyone let the bottom of their screen rest on the floor with no tension? If so, how many inches are on the floor to keep low shots from passing to the back side of the screen?

I'm about 1/2 way done with my home build, but I was looking for a similar solution. My current plan is to purchase something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mattress-We...-/122854031027
Cover it in black felt and run it along the base of the screen. Think that would work?

Thanks for the link. I may get one of these to put behind my screen. My bottom is loose across the width and hangs about 3" or so on the ground but sometimes a ball may still sneek behind. Having this directly behind the screen should prevent that and no need to wrap it.

I rolled up leftover memory foam in some of the black carpet runner fabric from Home Depot and have at the base of my screen. Works perfectly.

My son and I installed the subfloor yesterday. Carl's Premium 14' X 10'. I used their 2" rule from the edge of the screen to the wood frame. Screwed in some eye bolts with a nifty adapter from Ryobi and used ball bungees I bought with the screen. As you can see, it hangs very nice. The bottom of the screen is raised so we could nail down the OSB under the screen, otherwise its sits just like the rest of the screen when attached.

I have read in many places that 1' is the standard. Go to Carl's and read about impact screens.

You can get a wedge shape cut in the UK via https://www.efoam.co.uk/index.php?shape=triangle
This is what I am going to do at the bottom of my screen.
I'll be wrapping it in green material to blend with articial grass.
It will be fixed to the sub floor and about 10cm high.
I guess a ball could still drop straight down and behind it, but shouldn't happen often as i plan to anchor the bottom of the screen(not tight)
