So I am just about done with my simulator setup. There were several issues that I have to deal with and thought I would start a thread that might save some of you guys some time and frustration.

First of all here are my specs:
18 ft depth and 13 ft wide room with 10 foot ceilings.
    Uneekor Launch Monitor
    BenQ MW632ST projector
    4x4 Fiberbuilt Hitting Mat
Carl's 8x10.5 Impact Screen + Enclosure (Viewable screen 121.33 x 91 inches. 5 foot depth (as opposed to the 10 foot option)

I received my Fiberbuilt mat first. the 1x4 hitting area is extremely joint friendly. That comes in a separate package. The rubber mat and the 3x4 stance area comes rolled up in a heavy duty shrink wrap. It is VERY heavy. I had issues moving it with a dolly. No problem dragging it a few feet here and there for adjustment once it is setup but it is extremely heavy duty. Better than any driving range mat that you ever hit on.

I am 6'0" tall with a standard M5 TaylorMade driver. In order to have enough clearance for my backswing the ball needs to be ~8' from the wall behind you when you are standing at address. Anything less than that will risk a flat swinger hitting the wall on their backswing.

The Carl's enclosure comes with a few hurdles. The assembly of the frame is relatively easy. Make sure to measure the final recommended dimensions. I jumped the gun and started attaching the enclosure and screen before realizing that my measurements were off. It was a pain adjusting the dimensions after the enclosure is Velcro-ed onto the frame.

I was planning on placing the ball 8 feet away from the impact screen. This will not work with my enclosure because of the 5 foot overhang. Driver follow through will hit the top of the frame. I have to position the ball 9'10" away in order to have enough clearance to swing comfortably.

The 5 foot overhand also compromises the projector height. You have to drop it down almost in line with the top of the impact screen or else the top of the image is cut off. I tried to have it sit at around 9'6" (screen is about 8'6" tall) but that won't work. I had to move the projector directly above my hands at address. It works but I wanted to have it further back so that it would be out of my line of sight. That didn't work due to the top of the enclosure cutting off the image. Many projectors have vertical keystoning but this only helps position the projector higher if there is no overhang blocking the image.

I bought a twin sized memory foam topper. I cut it to fit into an old sleeping bag with double zippers. I placed the memory foam into the sleeping bag and used the extra bungee cords to hang it from the 2 zippers behind the screen. It definitely helps with bounce back. A 7 iron would bounce all the way back to me 10 feet away. With the memory foam the same 7i swing will bounce back about 4-5 feet.

My 54 degree wedge hits the very top of the impact screen and a couple shots hit the top of the enclosure. No big deal but thought it might be worth mentioning.

Hi @nowitski41, I'm about to engage the contractor to start to build a SIM room separte from my house. I've been looking at different launch monitors and I've read just a bit about Uneekor Launch Monitor. Can you tell me about where you got it, why you selected that one, if you tested it before the purchase, its cost and any other input you can provide would be appreciated.

Why do you need the front top bar of the enclosure ? I built an enclosure myself with smaller depth (15.5') than yours and the top bar was a no go from start. It actually turned out pretty well , since adjusting the projector was much easier and I have no fear of hitting the enclosure on my follow through.

Hey nowitski41 It would be awesome if you could post some pics of your setup. Sounds nice.

Congrats: My Uneekor arrives on Friday. Does 13 feet width allow you to hit from the center? How was the set up of the Uneekor, is it working well?

Hi all. Just getting around to checking this thread.

Woodland Hills- for about 2 years I was planning on purchasing the Skytrak for about $2K. The reviews were great and it is compatible with TGC19. So about 3 months ago when I was getting ready to pull the trigger I went over my plan with the wife. At this point things for me could go one of two possible routes. 1. I get a ton of backlash and have to fight tooth and nail to get the most basic setup possible at the cheapest price. 2. She tells me that if I’m going. I do it then do it all the way. Well I waited until after I bought her a $5000 purse and then ran the plan by her. She told me to do it right. This the Uneekor option was born. I read genes extensive reviews and was just sold in the features and ability to measure spin (as opposed to calculate). I went with the $7k version because I need big time help with my short game. Here is the breakdown as I understand it:

$6000 Uneekor Ignite-same hardware just different software. Austin actually installed the Ignite software on my desktop. It is simply a driving range with all the numbers that you need. Just off of memory: spin, side spin, launch angle, smash factor, club head speed, in/out or out/in angle, clubface angle at impact, replay of actual point of contact with ball. I may have missed a couple but those are the numbers that I use.

$7000 Uneekor Refine(the package I bought) - like I shared above you get the Ignite software. It is a completely different icon that you double click. The Refine icon give you 4 choices. Driving Range(2 screen options) and different looking from the Ignite range, Stroke Play(choose from 5 courses to play 18 holes), Practice Mode (you can choose any of the 5 courses and drop yourself anywhere on the course to hit a particular shot) and the Short Game Mode(2 options. One allows you to practice from 8 preset stations, but gives you the ability to change position in the short game complex thereby giving you the option to practice any shot imaginable. The second option is the Evaluation option. You hit 3 shots from 8 stations and you accumulate points.). By far, the short game evaluation is the most fun part for me. It takes 15-20 minutes to complete all 24 shots and is fun going from Gold to Platinum to Diamond. The top level is Master...gonna have to hole out a bunch to get up there.

$8000 Uneekor Succeed-from what I understand you get a bunch of courses to play. I opted to save the $1k and instead spend that money on TGC2019.

By the way, Matt and Austin at Uneekor are first class guys. Austin gladly helped me setup on the weekend during his own personal time. Went the extra mile and I was/am really appreciative.

Moahdia- I wish I was handy enough to build my own enclosure. I HAD to go with the Carl’s enclosure because my impact screen would have looked like crap if I tried it on my own. IMO, there is no need for a 5 foot overhang. 2 feet at the most is all you need....BUT the 5 foot long sides have been helpful with the shanks that I’ve hit.

Jkcapecod-My room is 13 feet wide. I have 5 feet in front of the ball and 8 feet behind the ball to allow for my backswing with driver. My impact screen is 121” wide so that’s about 10 feet. I shifted my screen as far to the right as possible leaving 2.5 feet on the left side. I am maybe 6”-8” off center compared to my impact screen which is to say that if you stand right behind the ball and look down the line you can tell that the ball is aimed 6-8” to the right of the centerline. However, when you address the ball this is almost imperceptible. Now consider I am a pull player so I usually aim a little right of my target so this setup seems very comfortable to me. I have yet to have my friends over to get their input.

                Woodlands

You can call 248-923-5975 to talk to Matt Bybee. He is a super stand up guy. Then once you purchase you will deal with Austin Lee for tech and setup...he is equally outstanding.

I did not test out the Uneekor LM before buying. The numerous reviews out there made me comfortable enough to pull the trigger. If you have been to a PGA superstore the experience is very similar except I feel like the Uneekor provides more info/feedback. I have hit on a track man only once for a fitting but it was outdoors so I have minimal point of reference to compare the Uneekor to the Trackman.

Let me know if you have any questions on the $7k Refine software.
