I used carpet tile and crown stapled it. Crown stapling is the best way to attached carpet or carpet tiles. My Courses:

You can see the seams if you look but not noticeable. My reason for using tiles was I planned to glue them. I even bought a huge pail of glue. Tiles are expensive. I started on the ceiling. It was a nightmare. Glue in my hair and everywhere. I sopped after 1 tile, pulled it off and threw it out. My room is large so it's a lot of tiles. I talked to my contractor who suggested crown staples. You cannot see the staples at all. It's the way to go. I'd go with tight short pile, not shaggy anything. Test it first. Using crown staples and a few helpers you'd be done in no time with full carpet.Originally posted by GolfHacker View PostI assume with carpet tiles you can see the seams? This gave me a chuckle. Dealing with my own nightmare soundproofing my basement ceiling. Over holidays, tried to put up mass loaded vinyl to the ceiling studs. Underestimated how heavy that stuff is. My father in law and i were trying to put up a 12 ft x 4 ft piece; ended up cutting it and still a hassle. and not sure about the seams. I convinced myself weeks ago the vinyl would be easier that sheetrock but thinking i'm just going 2 layers of 5/8 sheetrock with green glue. SMH

I used 5/8 I think. Plenty deep enough. Went through a lot of them. I'm not sure the brand. Whatever they sell at Home Depot. I use an air nail gun.Originally posted by GolfHacker View PostHaha. Working on ceiling is tough. What size or brand crown staples did you use? ThanksMy Courses:

I'm a contractor and we have been using insulation board and Camry carpet for our customers simulator screen surroundings. We have also been using it for platforms to add putting. Rolls phenomenal and is great with 4" depth cups. Next project we will be incorparting a hole down the sim path and maybe throw down a chalkline. That way when we putt in the sim, we have something to aim too.Last edited by No3Putting; 01-18-2023, 04:35 AM.

Hey No3Putting - I've seen the posts up here and the website for ordering Camry carpet... I'm tempted, but the green color being replaced by grey has me miffed... I don't think I could handle it... sorry... I know it rolls true...
