Anyone play a foot away from a wall?

I am thinking about moving my hitting area closer to the wall in front of me. Anyone swing with about a foot of clearance between the ball and wall?

Also, does anyone hit with 7 feet of space behind them? Does this amount of space give you enough room for driver? Do you have enough room for a practice swing?

I think you are saying your net or screen is one foot from the wall. If you are, then I am doing this. I do this with one of Cory’s screens from par2pro that is backed by archery netting. I’m guessing though it really depends on the speed of the ball with your driver. As if you bomb the ball this may not be enough.

No I mean on the other side the ball.

7ft behind should be enough for driver.
I have a build in the planning stages and I have planned in 6.5ft behind me for the swing. I've tried it out and driver is ok (depends on your swing of course). Leaves about half a foot of clearance.

I only have about 9-10" from my screen to the wall behind it. I have a generic net and a small memory foam mattress hanging behind it, but I don't think they help at all. I'm using the par2pro sq raw screen material and it only moves about 4-6" with 170mph ball speed.

Ok people are getting confused. I am NOT talking about space BEHIND the screen. I am talking about the space on the OTHER side of the ball relative to the golfer.

Looking down the line:

Golfer --- ball --- Wall

Ball - wall distance being 1-2 feet. Has this caused any issues with anyone

How is your screen connected at the sides. If you hit a draw, you're bringing whatever that is into play. If it's solid (like mine is angle iron) then you might get a rocket back at you?

I have a rope from the top of the screen frame to an eye hook in the floor with a net wrapped around it

DejaVu you should try a steel cable. It’s way easier than you think. Just need eye hooks, cable, and turnbuckles.

I knew nothing about them before I did it. They never lose tension. I haven’t touched my cables in 2 years

Thanks JackedUpSwing I didn't want to spend another $30ish on it so I used some rope laying around and a tie down strap on the backside for the tension. It hasn't moved yet either. Do you have any space between your cable and your blackout edging? If your cable only comes down in front of your screenside it won't work. The rope I used comes up from the bottom eye hook from the back of my screen, over the top, then down the front to another eye hook. It was relentless, but I ziptied the rope about every foot from the front rope to the back. No balls can shoot through it/behind it. A little overkill, but it's pretty tight and looks very clean.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I am currently contemplating a new set up that I will likely share in the near future and my thoughts on this for me in any event is that I want to be two to three feet away from the wall when hitting and have about 7 or so feet behind me.

I have about 2 feet between the ball and the wall you’d hit with a shaft (which is what I believe the poster is asking about).

My SkyTrak is about a foot from the ball and I’d guess it’s roughly and foot or just a bit more to the wall behind the SkyTrak.

Obviously no lefties at my place but I’ve never had an issue. I have a net return pro and still have the shank guard even though it’s against the wall. I’d not my wall is concrete though and has been hit so if this is a nice finished wall I’d be leery without some protection from damage.

6.5ft- 7ftshould be enough to accomodate your backswing with the driver

So you mean the wall in front of you as you are swinging.. ugg.. for my push draw that would be a serious problem. My ball hits my screen easily 1-2 feet right of my start line regularly.. especially when I block one hard..

I did for a few years. Got a little damage to the wall in front of me from toed balls. No biggie

You're using Uneekor, right? You should have no problem being 1' from the wall with your swing. Those who use Skytrak place it less than a foot and slightly in front (though they are susceptible to ball strikes off the toe!). I'm wondering if you're going to have enough space to center the QED over the hitting area though?
