    New Build Advice - Outdoor

I’m entering the obsessive research phase and before I get too far along wanted to get some thoughts/opinions. I live in Northern California and don’t have room indoors or in the garage for a sim, but weather is mild for the most part so something covered, but outdoors is what I’m thinking.

We are in the process of redoing our backyard and building a pergola, so I thought of making it a dual purpose pool pergola and golf simulator. I did an sketch of what I was thinking. My max dimensions are 14’6” depth (pool to back blue wall), 16’ wide, 10’ tall. (pic 1)

The idea is it’s a pergola (pic 2), but the back wall is two large doors that swing open and there is about a 2.5’-3’ deep structure with the impact screen. (pic 3). The inside of the doors would be padded creating the swing bay.

Based on the dimensions, will I have enough room? Tee to screen would be max 10’, but there would be no wall or structure in the backswing. I’d do a side (GC2, GCQ, Skytrak) or ceiling launch monitor (Uneekor, GChawk). I think I’d prefer ceiling for the ability to do a multisport sim, it’d be covered but weather/moisture could be a concern.

Other than potential cost, anything with this idea that makes you think absolutely don’t do it?

Thanks. I just emailed them. You know if it's meant to be a ceiling mounted as well?
