Depth of wall/ceiling protection

Hiya,

I’m planning my Sim build in the UK and would like some guidance please.

My ball to screen will be 8-10’.

if using wall/ceiling padding (my preferred look) I have enough wall for 4’ from the screen

• Is this enough protection?

• if not can I just add 4’ high Removable boards to the ball placement. (this is for beginners so that I can move to retain the clean look)

• Or do I need further protection (ie curtains)

Hi,
I have similar questions...I'll have a 12' W screen and about 6 to 6.5'(maybe 7') feet to the screen and room for about 4' of permanent side walls. I was thinking that 4' was enough, but it will be a glass patio door...do I need more side wall protection, is there a formula the people here have been using? Is carpet on plywood acceptable or should it be padded with cloth over foam?

How far from ball to the wall you are protecting? I gave this some thought in my recent build version 3.0 and can do some trigonometry to get the angle and make a recommendation.

I have 5 feet and netting extending on both sides and the top from my screen (purchased from Par2Pro). No one here has yet to miss large enough to miss the netting. I am thinking more is better but 4 feet should do the trick. The only concern I might have is the door you mention ….it is an expemsive oops..... maybe get some movable padding or curtains or something to cover the door when using the sim?

Thanks, I'll plan to get a really heavy curtain to pull across the glass doors...will help with light too, and maybe to start I'll place some foam between the curtain and door...just in case!
