I've been looking over a lot of the guides for screen/net placement, lighting, and the materials to build the enclosure, but most of it does not have Canadian shipping sources and searching Amazon.ca usually results in a product not being found.

Any other Canadians mind sharing where they picked up stuff like tarp and tube clips, tracks for netting, or mats that aren't overpriced? Seems like Americans are lucky when it comes to getting deals on good stuff.

    https://www.par2pro.com based in Edmonton
https://fiberbuiltgolf.com also Canadian though much of their shipping is done from US Central warehouse depending on what you buy

That said, other than dealing with the exchange rates I have found the cross-boarder shipping working really quite well even these days.

    Hope that helps.

I would second the use of Par2Pro in Edmonton. Cory is great.

      Also Fiberbuilt for hitting mats.

I used Synthetic Turf International for putting surface and they were great too:

For extra tarp connectors I used Princess Auto:
      Tarp Clips: https://www.princessauto.com/en/deta...ps/A-p8415200e
      Bungees: https://www.princessauto.com/en/deta...ps/A-p8841322e

      I hope that helps

I'm just starting my garage sim build now and ran into a lot of the same issues with shipping.

I purchased an Optishot2 from Cory at Par2Pro. The service was fantastic and it was cheaper there than anywhere else I could find.

I ordered a custom sized screen from Heavy Duty Tarps in Ontario. The product is a 12oz sawdust mesh so fingers crossed that it's a good material for this application. Their service was also really good. The screen size I ordered is 13'x10' and I had them sew a 3" sleeve in the top and bottom. Total cost is $307 CAD with shipping included. https://www.heavydutytarps.ca/golf-simulator-screens

As mentioned Par2Pro and Fiberbuilt are great resources.

I built my enclosure frame using 1" connector fittings from GlobalIndustrial.ca:

            https://www.globalindustrial.ca/g/st...-pipe-fittings

The pipe itself is 1-3/8" chain link fence rail that I got at Lowe's.

I’m lucky in that I live close to the border and have a mail box over the border as I have a trailer in a rec park just in the US. That was of course until COVID and I can’t access it and now I’m realizing just how much I miss it.

I bought a flight deck practice station direct from fiberbuilt a couple years ago in Canada and it’s way cheaper to buy it from Costco in the US (must have got an amazing bulk deal). Some things are just always cheaper in US even after exchange.

My biggest annoyance is wanting more metallic dots as Flightscope wants basically as much to ship them as to buy the dots if I send them to Canada and the shipping scales linearly with quantity which is irrational for something in sheets. All the secondary sources also seem to be in US.

The other issue I’ve had is import duties. I find when things are shipped they often charge the wrong duty if the manufacturer label isn’t perfectly defined. I also got charged duty on my R-motion replacement under warranty which makes no sense. If my Mevo+ ever needs repairs I’ll drive it across the border to avoid that hassle.

I'm in Northern Ontario, so even Toronto is thre over two hours away in good traffic. Border trip isn't happening.

I have never had a problem cross border shipping as long as you select USPS, or FEDEX. UPS is notorious for ridiculously high brokerage fees (on top of customs and duties) and I avoid at all costs.

You're spot on with UPS as they were the offending party in the shipping debacle I described. They never got their fees, either. I've only used USPS ever since.

Thanks for the tip on FedEx since it adds another option for expedited shipping.

Cory also sells the metallic dots and you can also buy them I the TM website. While I can’t recall I though there was someone who sold the foresight club dots that also sold the metallic dots.

I don’t see dots on Par2Pro website nor Trackman (I looked less hard on Trackman assuming I’d face the same problem as Flightscope on shipping). I’m not out yet but as soon as COVID stopped my ability to go across the border I started looking for options with little success. I’ll try harder when I get really close to out.

Jay, just curious how you are still finding that tarp in terms of durability and image quality? Did you hang sheets behind it?

I actually didn't have that setup for very long, maybe a few months. From what I remember the tarp was pretty see-through and I tried numerous ways to fix that but nothing I tried was a great solution. Knowing everything I know now I would recommend a proper impact screen.

I haven't set up my heavy duty tarps screen yet but they recommend hanging black felt behind it for a good picture. Did you do that?

You'll need something behind it. It's very see-through on its own
