Hello everyone,
I am fairly new to golf since I had to quit my soccer career due to torn ACL and menuscus. I have gone down to 10 hcp in 1½year of playing and really starting to get somewhat addicted to the sport. Anyhow, I live in Sweden which means the golfseason is quite short, therefore an idea of building a simulator started. Since I however don´t know if Simulator Golf is my cup of tea I have considered building an simulator on a budget with potential to be upgraded over time.
I have a garden house which is protected due to the history by the municipiality, this was used by the old farmers in the beginning of 19-20th century, in the house there´s a old laundry room which has just been gathering dust over the years, it is over 15 feet in height so therefore I decided to go for this room.
Below is a list of the setup I and/or will purchase for my build:
This means the total budget I have put into the simulator build is 995 USD.
In terms of the room size, it is not the biggest however it should work (hopefully), attached as a picture is the layout of the room, dark green is where I will have the puzzle mat, light green puzzle mat without padding, yellow hitting zones, thicker lines means the where the curtains will be placed.
Reason why I write this post is first of to get your input of you experienced builders if there are some major things that I have forgot during my eager to build this?
Also hopefully this can work as an guide for those whom are considering building an simulator on a budget. Nevertheless I will keep you updated during my build.
Side note, upgrades which I have considered for the future:
1. Short throw projector like Optoma GT1080 - 900 USD
2. Skytrak launch sensor (drawback, wife lefty) - 2000 USD
3. E6 Connect yearly subscription - X USD
