  • Need help to choose Mevo+ vs Skytrak

Hi, firstable, thank you for this forum, it helped me build my sim room in my shed for a reasonable cost. Now everything is ready and I need to choose the best sim suited to my room. I have 12 ft wide 22 ft long and 9 feet high to hit, but only 7ft high screen. Everything is alright, but for my 56 degrees that is launching too high for my ceiling.

Anyway, I was going to order a Mevo+ but my floor is not completely leveled. It is not too bad, but there is some subtil slope in my floor. Does MEVO+ really need a perfect leveled floor? Or there is some tolerance for that?

Would it be more safe to order a skytrak?

I was leaning toward MEVO+ because of the portability and ability to work with LH/RH players.

Thank you all for the input.

    For indoor sim $
    1. Used GC2
    2. Skytrak
    3. Mevo plus

    Outdoor use
    1. Used Gc2
    2. Mevo plus
    3. Skytrak

Save yourself some HA and start with used gc2

Each has their advantages and it depends a bit on how you plan or need to use it. If you need both righties and lefties, Mevo+ is the better choice for a room of your width. And if you want to use it outdoors, Mevo+ will also be better.

Where Skytrak seems to have it's advantage is with short chips and putts in sim play. Being a radar based unit, the Mevo+ seems to struggle with picking up very delicate chips and putts, which can be problematic when playing sim golf.

Both can be finnicky in their own ways. Neither one is universally right or wrong. Just depends on how you want to use it and what you want to get out of it.

I’ve owned both and definitely prefer my Mevo+. I’ve posted a few times on the whys and differences so probably easiest just to go to my history and threads as most of those posts have others comments in them as well.

I don’t find Mevo+ nearly as finicky as some make it out to be. My garage has subtle slope for drainage and backyard is not perfectly flat either and I haven’t seen issues.
