Advice for new build

Hi,

During last lockdown I left it too late to buy kit as it was all sold out. A few weeks ago I bought a cage and netting (3m x 3m x 3m cage and scaffold netting doubled up all around and then an extra strong 3 x 3m archery baffle netting for the ball to hit into.)

It will only be used outside as not got the height inside to swing. I made a cheap set up with pvc pipe earlier in the year but was petrified of miss-hits and ball going flying around local houses and gardens, so I used the 30% balls.

This time I want to use real balls and eventually get a LM to get some real practice in. I am probably going to go down the skytrak route, so my question is,

If I use a 3 x 3 x 3 cage, how much room is needed between the ball and net for skytrak to track the ball to give accurate data?

I have plenty of room behind to get more distance between the ball and net. Plan would be to extend scaffold netting from the cage back to the house to catch and stray balls (Im a 6hcp so very rare I hit shanks, sky drivers etc, but better safe than sorry.

As long as you have room to swing the club you have room for the Skytrak to function properly. It only needs a few feet in order to get enough pictures of the ball to determine flight characteristics.

Yeah Skytrak is a camera-based system that takes two photos of the ball very soon after impact. So it doesn't require any extra room or anything.
