    Advice please?

Hi all, starting to plan for my build.
Height won’t be an issue as I have plenty. The discs available is 10-11ft x 16ft. I’m thinking mevo+ and have drawn out a draft plan. Thoughts or advice would be really appreciated. Thanks.

6ft to screen is very close. Both from a rebound point of view and in terms of ability of a radar unit to track the ball. You may be better off going for a photometric launch monitor (like Skytrak).
Also, I think you'll struggle to get the furniture into a room that narrow. In reality it will take up more space than you show in your diagram. You'll be in danger of clipping the sofa on your backswing, and your sideboard will be crowding the tee.

I would tend to agree. It looks like you have 2 feet of space behind the screen? You can trim that down to one foot easily and give yourself 7 feet ball-to-screen.

The mevo+ requires very specific distances from unit to ball and then ball to screen. I'm not exactly sure what those requirements are but I want to say 8 feet ball-to-screen is the minimum (?)

Also, the couch is useless because there's no way anyone can sit there while someone is hitting. They would get be-headed. I would ditch the couch.

My space is very similar to yours (about 17x13). And a room that size is just not ideal for any spectators unfortunately. When someone else is playing or watching in my sim they just have to stand in the doorway. I have a recliner in the back corner (right where you have the couch) that I use for watching sports in there. But there's no way anyone could sit on it while someone else is swinging.

It's doable in that space; just might have to tweak things some.

I have the Mevo+ and love it, but I would be hesitant to recommend it in your space. For short indoor they require 8ft mevo to ball and 8ft minimum Mevo+ to screen. It seems some of the issues are due to lack of space, especially with higher ball speeds. I have seen people saying they are having success at 7ft mevo+ to ball and 8ft Mevo+ to screen, and they FS apps allow this setting. I would say this has to be your minimum starting point.

In a 16 ft room, you would need to have your screen 8 inches from the wall, to allow for the 15ft and for the Mevo+ to be open up (~4inches from back to front of unit when open)

If it were me in your space I would go with photometric system, Skytrak, GC2, Uneekor based on your budget

Thanks everyone, Defo going with Sky Trak now as that will give me more space. In terms of ideal distance with sky trak, ball to screen what am I looking at?

No need to worry about distance to screen with the camera based units like Skytrak. They require a very short distance to read the ball flight.
Moving your screen a foot off the wall should give you the min distance for a Mevo plus.

ok thanks, so i could move screen 1 foot off the wall, pull the ball back to say 8-9 feet and still have 6 feet or so behind me which would be good.
