  • How much if any buffer is needed for 16' Stealth Sports screen from Par2pro?

My garage rails stand at exactly 16 feet and maybe 2-2.5 inches apart. Can I order the standard 16' wide stealth and let it barely squeeze between these two rails or do I have to custom order to only gain a little bit more of a "buffer"? Is the Stealth Screen setup exactly 16' wide?

    Thanks!

Lots of overhead space there. Alternatively you could put in a wall mount garage door opener and raise your door rails higher.

I actually just put in a wall mount garage motor right after the picture. Trying to avoid needing to raise the rails. Just really want to put that 16' stealth screen right in but not sure if I just barely miss the width or if 16'2" is sufficient...

You could easily cut the tube yourself to fit, it's only an aluminum roller. Then you can fold over the screen without issue.

Cut the sports screen tube? Not sure i trust myself to do that. I'm mostly curious if 16'2" is enough to cover a "16' " wide as advertised screen...

Definitely go with the side mount opener and raise up the rails. I just did this. It is also so much quieter and faster then that belt driven one I had.

I've been looking at Par2Pro's 10' retractable screen. There's 2 screens attached to the roller; the sportscreen and the impact screen. The sportscreen, referred to as a backstop is a bit wider than the projectable impact screen. Unfortunately, for the 16' width, the actual backstop width is 197", so you either do a custom size or do something with the garage rails. The picture is a screen shot from their website.

I was in a similar boat when I was asking them about the 10' screen. My space is only 127" wide and they state the bracket to bracket width is 128.5" and asked Par2Pro if the brackets could be mounted slightly differently so I could fit in my space. They said no and that I would need a custom size. Fortunately, the cost was still the same as the standard 10'. So since yours only needs to be slightly smaller than the 16', I doubt there would be a price increase.

I would just contact Par2Pro, tell them your dimensions, send them a picture, and they'll set you up. Good luck!
