Hi Everyone. This projector appears to be quite popular with sim builds. I have 2 questions regarding this projector for my sim build. The attached pic shows that this projector is to be installed 12'1" from the screen. I am installing a Uneekor QED system and 12x9 screen (4:3).

    1. The QED will be installed at ~ 13'6" from screen meaning the projector will be ~ 7"-10" away from the QED (in front of the unit). Will this interfere with the infrared camera's of the QED? i.e. too close to the unit.
    2. The image brightness (nits) at the bottom of the image states that the image brightness is too low. Does this mean that this projector isn't great for this screen size?

I am also building a 5' enclosure, so a projector installed too close or too high from the screen would be a problem (e.g. Optoma 1080HDR would be at 8' from screen and at a height of 10'5", which would probably get blocked out by the enclosure?). Thanks in advance for replies!

Cannot speak to the QED interference (I doubt if it's a problem), but the TH671ST is plenty bright for up to 16x9 screens. I typically need to adjust the brightness down to about 45% in light-controlled rooms (no ambient light hitting the screen). The brightest projector in the world will look bad if you have window or other light hitting the screen - when that happens you have no way to get dark parts of the image.

I describe other reasons the TH671ST is great for golf sims at https://store.gunghogolf.com/BenQ-TH...NEW-p265749740

Why does the TH671ST do so poorly on the projector central calculator for a 183"W x 107.5"H screen (stealth screen elite)? The FL is 7....

Thanks Ron. So the image brightness stating that it is low at a 12' distance is not accurate?

That's correct, wouldn't worry about Projector Central's lighting guides.
