I purchased a martin hall 5 star urethane backed golf mat for my simulator room. They had a 5’ x 10’ mat for $511 with free shipping specifically for golf simulator rooms. The long width of 10 feet gives me a lot of room for both righties and lefties The mat is 1-1/4 inch thick which is the same thickness as the divot action strip. I am planning on cutting in a 12inch by 24 inch divot action strip and I was wondering what the best way to cut in this strip would be. As mentioned earlier the mat is not foam backed it is urethane back. Should I cut from the back? I want it to look professional and want the strip to be tight in the opening. Any suggestions? I’m sure many of you have done this?
