I have built a 20' wide, 10' deep, 10' tall cage from 1" EMT pipe. I want to project a screen size of 16x9. I am trying to determine if I can mount the projector to the overhead pole at the rear of the cage or if it really needs to be mounted to a solid ceiling? I have 17' ceilings so I was hoping to avoid a scenario where I drop the projector down 7' from a ceiling mount. I am a little concerned that the ball hitting the screen would cause to cage to move just slightly and make the projected image bounce after hits. I was thinking about using T fittings and floor flanges to rigidly connect the frame to the back wall in 2 or more locations to eliminate cage bounce. I would also attach a chain from the rear overhead rail up to the ceiling to prevent sag and bounce. Has anyone tried mounting a projector to the hitting cage? Does it work well or just a bad idea? Anyone have a projector recommendation for a 16x9 screen with the projector mounted at roughly 9-11 feet from the screen? Projector Central's throw calculator is telling me that the throw distance is too far for the BenQ TH671ST based on lumens. I have looked at the Optoma GT1090HDR but keep seeing people commenting about returning the projector for other options.

Projector mounted to rear overhead EMT Cage pole?

Teaching young kids to hit. Extreme toe hits are now not an issue. I have plenty of space. I will have Kee Klamp Swivel fittings roughly 36" back from the screen which will allow me to roll the turf area up to the screen, fold the rear cross bar (multiple hinge points) back to the sides of the cage and then fold the sides into the front, leaving the screen and turf folded up protected at roughly 4' off the wall. I found a cross bar mounting plate for a projector on amazon with a quick disconnect that is pretty good quality for a good price. It seems to me like pricing from some of the online retailers is very high. One of them wants $750 for a 22 inch touch screen.......

I wouldn't worry about that big of a cage shaking enough to cause a noticeable image shake - remember that the screen itself ripples quite a bit with ball impact, causing far more image disruption than the little bit of cage vibration will cause.
Also, don't worry about the BenQ TH671ST being bright enough. It's a very bright projector, and needs to be turned down under 50% brightness for most rooms with well-controlled ambient light (no window or other light sources directly hitting the screen). BenQ is very conservative in their lumen ratings. The TH671ST is perhaps the most popular projector for golf sim use, and you can read all the reasons it's great for this purpose in our store: https://store.gunghogolf.com/BenQ-TH...NEW-p265749740
That said, the throw on the TH671ST is a bit long to mount it directly to the back bar of a 10' deep enclosure with your screen size of 16x9', as that would put the lens at about 9'6" back and result in a max image size of only 13'9"x7'9". You need the lens 11'0" back from screen to get a full 16'x9' image size, so perhaps you could figure out an extension on the top tube to get the center of the projector moved back by 18" or so.
Dropping a ceiling mount 7' is certainly possible, just a bit extra work and cable run. We sell a 6-8' adjustable drop for $150 (https://store.gunghogolf.com/Crimson...ter-p275591325) that matches up with the JR3 mount well (https://store.gunghogolf.com/Crimson...unt-p275584657).
