Landing Mat/DIY Screen

Hi All,
Quick question... Looking to get a custom DIY Screen/enclosure from Carl's place and build up the landing mat with square tiles to be even with the hitting mat for putting...
Would you guys recommend the screen/enclosure sit on top of the landing pad OR would you recommend the screen/enclosure sitting directly on the floor with the landing pad built around it?... Does it matter?
Any insight would be great!

Building up the turf with 1" Foamular 150 (Home Depot) or 1" EVA foam exercise tiles is a great way to do it, and it's best to have the enclosure cut into it on the sides and behind it on the back to eliminate any chance of the ball hitting the bottom pipes. Can then also cut your mat into the raised turf, or use the turf as your stance area (use EVA foam under your feet, Foamular will dent in the stance area) and cut in a Fiberbuilt 1x3' panel or a DIY Divot Action hitting surface.

I was thinking of doing a 2" foamular and put a Turffactorydirect turf on top to sit even with my Fiberbuilt 4x9 mat. I know youre an advocate for Foamular. Wondering if i'll have any issues with having a 2" thick foam. I can always take a different route to get to 2.3" (Luan, plywood, etc..) Thanks GungHo.

This is exactly what I was planning on doing. My only concern is the foamular being too soft and squishy. Other option is dricore and eva tiles. The 2” foamular seems much easier and also cheaper. Did you end up doing this? I also have the FB hitting mat and am just trying to figure out how to get the turf for the landing mat area to sit level with the FB hitting mat. Thanks!

I've seen some people use 1.5" thick foam tiles and then the turf on top is about 0.5" so it stacks up to the FB nicely.

I did exactly the same. 1" Foamular follow by a 1/2" plywood before topping off with a 5/8" putting turf. It flushed well with the my 4'x9' FB.

The Foamular do squeak a little. I think I did not put lot of glue between the floor, Foamular and plywood? Do you guys have the same issue?

Also, what do most of you folks use for the transition?
