  • Mevo+ "runner"

I am looking to build a "runner of sorts between my Mevo and the Fiberbuilt hitting mat. I have a 9'x6' Fiberbuilt hitting mat. I would like to build a 3'Wx6'L runner to place the Mevo on. Since my set up needs to be moved regularly, I figured the best way is by having a piece of plywood cut to 3' x 6' and then laying some foam on top of it, and some astroturf on top of that. I figure I'll get very close to the height of the hitting mat which I believe is just under 2". Assuming I find 1" thick material, what is best suggested? It needs to adhere to the wood, and then also be able to adhere to the turf I lay on top.

Any suggestions, or alternate builds are very much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Noob

Are you building the runner for putting? If not have you tried just setting the tee height to the height of the fiberbuilt mat (2") This is what I do and I have numbers I believe. If you do go the route of keeping runner and need to keep it moveable, why not skip the plywood and just go with foam board. you can get it in different thickness.

It's not for putting, I need to address that (Almost no putts are able to be read). I am currently using two 1" thick foam 2'x2' squares stacked on top of each other and connected to each other for 6' in length. The problem is they're exceedingly light and a breeze will blow them out of alignment, or I will accidentally knock them out of alignment. I think something heavier and sturdier will solve the problem.

Putting is a whole other issue, that I have no clue how I will resolve...

I used to use two small pieces of 5/8" plywood stacked on top of each other which seemed to work fine for a long while. I was then experiencing issues with my mevo+ and when I did troubleshoot with Flightscope, they asked me to make sure it was a consistent height with no drop offs from mat height to the mevo+. I used my foam mats that I have under my Fibrebuilt mat to make a sort of runner all the way from the back of the mat to the area where the mevo sat. But I can see your way working out as well. Plywood, foam and astro turf on top. I read another forum about someone using Super 77 3M spray for adhering the foam - you may want to look into that as a cheap adhesive option. Good luck!

Thanks, Super 77 might be a good call for adhesion. I'm debating between plywood and Zip board or some sort of Azek, both of which are water resistant and should last longer.

I assume your setup is outside, possibly on grass? Are you able to just stake your current foam runner to the ground? I would be concerned with plywood warping when it gets wet.

It's actually in an enclosed tent. The tent is on a stone patio. The last 4' or so stick outside the tent, so when it's windy, these foam runners get pushed around. That last 4; is the reason I need a weatherproof solution.
