Ok, so I have pivoted from my original garage build now putting this project in my basement. Excuse the mess in the basement, I'm just getting started.
My only real issue is clearance. As you can see from pics, I just took out the drop ceiling that was there, and the amount of space I have from floor to the ceiling trusses is 8'3, which I'm not sure is enough to swing driver.
So I saw on here where someone removed the trusses and put a steel beam in. Can that person give me some more details as I can't find that post.
In the second pic, I would have 9'3 inches all the way up to the subfloor on the second floor. I'm thinking about just putting in one tray ceiling for my swing path and then drywalling the rest of the basement onto the trusses which would still really only give me 8' ceilings all the way around. But much better than the drop ceiling that is there.
Also, how far do you recommend the hitting zone be behind the screen?
Few pics of current situation. That is an old 120 inch screen from Screen Innovations for my theater room with the Epson projector. Plan to reuse the projector, wish I could re-use the screen.
