  • Uneekor on a track

Hello everyone, I am in the process of planning my sim build. The building is 14.5'w X 20'l X 10' H. I have not decided if I will go with the Uneekor EYE XO or the QED.
I was wondering if anyone knows if you can install the unit on a track overhead and move it a foot or so left or right to just max out the swing room? I'm left handed and most of the people that I play with are right handed. Any insight on this or personal thoughts on either the EYE XO or the QED would be great. Thanks!!

Someone has definitely done this before on this forum, though I can't find the thread at the moment.

I have not seen this on here but I imagine it could work. Calibration would be something you would need to be precise on. You would need to calibrate unit on a slide on the far left and far right and get numbers to match. Make sure you have a way to adjust the slide up/down or back/forward to get numbers to match on both sides of the slide. If you can get numbers to match or close, I imagine it would work. Constant movement of unit side to side could make it hard for unit to hold calibration but not sure.

At 14.5 feet wide I would think you can swing left and right in one spot but I may be wrong. The QED system has a larger hitting zone I believe as well.

I think FNBogey did exactly this with an Eye XO.

If your room is 14'6" wide, you're only 6" shy of the magic 15' width for LH/RH play from the same ball position. Both the EYE XO and QED have a wide enough pick-up zone for you to have it in a static position, so lefties and righties can tee up driver 4-6" left or right of center and have plenty of clearance behind them. All other clubs can be swung from the same ball position on both sides.

Happy to chat through this with you on the phone, and also chat through the pros and cons of the two units and give you the best pricing - our phone number is at https://gunghogolf.com.

If you do end up needing to mount it on a sliding track, we've done that, and can also talk you through that process and what additional equipment you'll need.

at 14.5 wide, you can easily center it for RH/LH setup. that gives you over 7 ft on each side. Plus you have some room to move the ball in the hitting zone. Putting any overhead camera system on a moving track is only asking for headaches. They are designed to be calibrated in a fixed postion. We have several golf enclosures and premium screens that will work with the uneekor that we can customize to fit your exact dimensons. email optishotgolfsimulator at gmail.com. thx golfsimulatorsite

bgcurtis did it and I literally just got my track today from Amazon so sometime in the next few months I’ll do it too haha (baby steps).

but as the others said you will probably be fine due to the area that the cameras cover!

I am interested in doing the same thing. My room is 13’ wide.
