Thought I would share my build since I browsed this forum for months while planing and designing my simulator. This place was very helpful that's for sure
I used the following
carls premium impact screen. 8x12 size
Fiberbuilt hitting mat
Gaming Pc
epson gaming projector
skytrak
Then I just framed everything and built the enclosure myself.
Looks fantastic - one of the better builds I’ve seen on here, nice and clean. Let us know when you end up upgrading your skytrak 😉
Thanks man , I think it turned out pretty good. I was trying to make it as clean and professional looking as possible . No wrinkles in the screen and just all nice . It's dead quiet too when u hit the ceiling or walls . High density foam I wrapped in felt really did the trick.
I just realized after reading again that this is on a PC, and looks like 4x3 ratio. My screen will be 12x9 so I have been looking more closely at projectors.
The projector you have, is it a 1080p projector? Any issue getting it to show 4x3 well? Are you setting the in game resolution to 1200x800?
Wasn't sure if I need to be looking specifically at a 4x3 projector or not. Most in my price range seem to be 16x9 1080p ones. Which model Epson is it?

Thanks!
I posted my dimensions above. This is wide screen 16:10 . I just setup the pc to that resolution and everything is perfect . Yes 1080p projector
Wow, that looks incredible! I'd be scared to let my buddies (or me) hit in there as it looks like the hitting area is pretty far back from the side protection. May just be the camera angle. I had one friend put a hole in my wall about two feet in front of the ball and 10ft to the left of it. No idea how he hit that shot as he's right handed.

It's the fish eye lense on my phone that makes it look farther back than it really is . It's 9 feet from hitting mat to screen, and hitting mat to side walls is only like 3 feet I believe
Someone could take a crazy shot and hit something but that would be unlikely... I hope lol
Looks great! Do you mind sharing a link to where you purchased the foam boards? Also, what material is the black flooring?
Black flooring is a thing carpet with sound deadening underlay.
The foam I just got from a local family fabric depot place . They sell massive sheets of high density foam . It's 2.5inches thick and stops the ball dead.
Looks very neat ! nicely done.
Is the foam glued or stapled to the walls & celling then carpeted over ? Then is the carpet also simply glued to the foam ?
One of the photos show the outer framing, did you add more battens and sheeted the enclosure (plywood ?) before the foam/carpet went in ?
So the floor is carpet but the walls and ceiling are black felt .
The foam I wrapped in felt and then velcroed to the 2x4s on the walls . Yes I added more cross beams . They are very sturdy .
The ceiling I used plywood and then screws with washers through the foam into the plywood. And then I just ran the black felt across right to left and stapled up . You can't see any staples now and it's one peice of felt , no seems . Looks super clean
