  • Small simple garage setup. Need help with setup

    Hello,

I always wanted to build a simulator but our course has a GC2 with projector. I live 9 miles from there and have unlimited use. So instead I was thinking of doing a simple net and matt with a Mevo+ and a Well-putt matt in my garage. My son and I could just use iPads instead of having a projector setup. I had a few questions.

    1. What are some good mats to look at?
    2. Nets? I saw the "Net Return" on Instagram. Is that a decent or cheaper options?
    3. I have 9'8" height in garage, that ok?
    4. Im having a shed installed in backyard. This is mainly to move mowers,, snow blowers, tools, etc OUT of the garage to make room for the Golf setup. I was curious what is the minumum dimensions needed if I wanted to set this all up in a shed? I think the biggest shed I can fit in 14x10

    1. Mats are a personal preference, but a lot of people like Fiberbuilt, Divot Action, True Strike, or GungHoGolf new Holy Grail hitting strip/mat 2. Net Return is a good mat, but some people have used archery netting from the ceiling for a cheaper option. If you go with a net return, there's a possibility you could build your own impact screen frame and screen for the same price.
    3. Ceiling height should be ok, unless you're really tall and/or have a very steep swing
    4. 14x10 shed dimensions are probably too small for comfort, but way too small for the Mevo+ as you need 16ft minimum (recommended) for their "short indoor" mode

Thanks for the reply, Is there a build thread or more info on building a net or the archery netting?
