Really nice setup. I’m always super envious of peoples available space. I think you did a wonderful job.

We found the condo and I was shocked by the basement size. I ran out and tested it with my driver before making an offer that day! Lucky find.

Thanks. I decided to avoid the typical green carpet. The grey flooring is the Toyota Camry carpet that runs 11 on the stimp meter.

Another build I am jealous of!! My build is going slow, but hopefully will be there soon.

Digging the dark colors. Did you use anything for flooring other than carpet and osb?

I used the Camry carpet that rolls well for putting. It doesn't deal with much foot traffic very well though.

Looks awesome. How do you like that projector? Also, if you don't mind, where did you get your Desktop computer from? Was it a pre-built? I'm looking at a very similar setup so this could help me a lot hopefully. Thanks.

I like the projector. Not perfect, but bright and quick. Trying to project a 198" image you lose some detail.

Brownie - did you use a cork underlayment like this? https://www.homedepot.com/p/Eco-Cork...700858#overlay

just wondering if you used any adhesive in this application and if you're happy with it. i have some 5/8" turf i'm putting down and i'm thinking i'd like a small underlayment to soften it a bit underfoot but i dont want to create any issues with the install.

Brownie , did you measure your camry carpet on an actual stimpmeter? I just made one with 2 alignment sticks here, 30" travel, 20 degree angle... my camry carpet went 14.6 feet... Uphill. Quite possibly 15 feet because each ball tapped the end of my indoor putting green. And that's with cork underlayment. I always knew it was fast, but holy crap, this is ridiculously fast.

barwick11 - Do you normally putt on professional greens? That's really fast... I'm about to do the same and build a homemade Stimp Meter to roll it in my sim shed. I'm rolling on GrassTek Club Champion putting turf. Most courses I play probably stimp around 8-10, or lower for the municipals when it's not been mowed.

So sorry. I haven't been on here in a while. I didn't measure stimp, but since I play on some very fast greens I think it's pretty accurate. I understand some pros use this carpet.

Brettster Nope, normally play on munis and/or average public courses. They all feel like putting on fluffy sand right now. The one I practice on near my house just stimped at a 6.5... hehe. I'm so screwed.

But in reality I've been trying to get a feel for what my "constant force over time" putting stroke does on various speed greens, and then I can match that speed to how far I bring the putter back. On my green in the garage, name the distance 5 to 15 feet and I can leave 6 putts within a few inches of each other. Problem is when I go to slow greens I'm bringing the club back some 30 inches to make 40 foot putts get even remotely close to the hole.

So, back to your homemade stimp... just curious how you made that, do you have some pics? I have alignment sticks here and it would not be difficult, just don't know what you used to prop them up at 20 degrees? I suppose anything would work, even books, then give the ball a roll - from the top position at certain number of inches from bottom?

Going to be trick to learn to vary your 'constant force over time' with 14.5 stimped turf in your simulator. What eactly is 'constant force over time' is this some technique you're learning?

Superb build. Could you share how far your projector is from the screen, and your hitting distance? As the 700sti is not as shrt a throw as Optomas, I'm worried about shadows. Edit: I saw that it is 12 feet. What about wedges?

What is the black material you have as the roof of the enclosure?

Also, do you find it bright enough with your TV and some lighting? Do you need to run it at max brightness?

Looks amazing I’m very jealous. Am I read it right that your ceilings are 8 ft 10 in tall?

They are 8'10 1/2" tall minus the 1 5/8" hitting mat. The ceiling has only been grazed a couple of times. If you are trying to "cut" the ball, chances are you may hit it. I have a couple of friends 6'2" that never hit it. I have a 5'10" friend that has hit it twice.
                Working...
