  • TV resolution / frame rate?

Until I go full screen deal sticking with mat, net, and buying TV for garage which will mount to some kinda TV swivel mount thing. Will display to there.
going 55", got room on wall. Figgered since I really don't need anything more than display I can one for avdecent price. All I need to do is get proper resolution, refresh rate or frame rate maybe. HD fine, 4K not necessary.
what are specs of TV I'm looking for?
If you're using a TV for display, whaddya got and how is it working for you?
    Thanks.

Any modern TV will work. Best TV is the Samsung QLED line - picture quality of OLED, but no burn-in risk. 55" is about $1,500 at Best Buy. But again, any modern TV will work - can use a PC or an iPad with it.

      Tks Ron.
Don't think I'll be dropping $1600 on a TV for this sim deal.
It's already a giant money grab as it is. Jeebus.
Upon further review looks like a 1080 rez thru a hdmi cable gets it done.

That's correct. If using an iPad, you'll need an HDMI adapter for it - make sure you stick with Apple brand for that. Keep in mind the iPad output is a fixed 4:3 aspect ratio, so it won't fill the TV screen. An iPhone projects at 16:9 and will fill it, but the UI on the smaller phone can be a little tougher to use with golf software.

      Interesting, good info.
      I've built a PC.
As I recall there is only one software program that is iOS only?

The only sim software that is iOS-only is WGT (SkyTrak only, and it's rather lame compared to TGC or E6 Connect). Mevo+ comes with an iOS-only version of E6 Connect, but you can upgrade to a PC version. Mevo+ range apps are iOS or Android only, but they plan to release a PC version in the near future. TGC 2019 is PC-only. Using a PC will give you a better experience in nearly every way, regardless.

Don’t forget Black Friday is coming up. I always find this to be the best time for TV’s and also projectors in terms of some of the deals that are out there on last years tech.

Good call on TV / Black Friday.
Would think you'd see some great deals out there.
Although with this computer chip thing going on, maybe wait until spring for pretty much everything.
Bought a used truck just as the weird "lack of vehicles" thing began first of this year. Wasn't too bad.
Guess I picked a bad time to build a golf sim.

I bought an amazon projector for 250$ and am using a painters drop cloth right now to hit into.

Honestly it works great, even the picture quality is decent.

I'll try get some pics of my temporary set up up, but I think the cheap projector is way better than running a tv.

How are you finding the Yaber projector, I am looking at getting one?

What size image are you projecting, my real worry is that it won't be able to project a large enough screen size and/or will be prohibitively far away from the screen.

            Would really appreciate your thoughts.

My screen is 14' 2" x 9' and the yaber doesn't fill it. I have it as far back as I possibly can without having shadows. The picture is good and honestly the screen not being full doesn't really take away from the experience for me. My plan is to grab a tk1700sti once I have the money but for 250$ I have 0 complaints with the Yaber.

Wilsoner - how far back is projector (from you) to not have shadows?
