1.) ah yes... you're at 1' from back wall, as most are, I'm doing everything I can to gain just 4" less from that back wall, I'll let you know how it works out .

3.) I'm not sure what 'golf mesh' is, is that like 'netting'? It appears it might be, and I would guess it is like high speed golf netting, but when I look at it, appears more like a canvas curtain material? I'm really curious if it stops balls at 6" from the screen - as I think you said a few times that you've not hit any over there, but you think it will be fine? I see how it's mounted up top with the angle iron, thank you. Have you not had any balls sky up and hit the angle iron? Maybe I'm worrying about things that might not ever happen, but when I was testing out my R10 LM into a net (7' high by 10' wide) in my yard I immediately skied a driver over the net into my neighbors yard! So, trying to avoid a ball hit like that coming back at me, even though it rarely happens.

4.) I've heard/seen all good things about Uneekor, but nothing like that with the numbers on wedges? Maybe someone else up here can help you out on that... I assume you use dots on balls?

Wow - great that you have a better half that also loves the game, or cares enough to tell you how to pick things out, I'm happy for you. My spouse has nothing to do with it, and won't even touch a club... which makes it a little frustrating/confusing when trying to involve our children in the game.

You're right though the sourcing can save thousands, but also eat up enough time to cost you thousands that you might not have... Fortunately I'm time rich right now, long enough to want to get this whole build over with and start playing a LOT of sim golf, probably every day... I've been piecing together everything I need, and still undecided on back/side netting/curtains, and protection behind net (likely memory mattress toppers, or something similar).

Hey, I feel like you, though I did very little construction in my life earlier, always finding it to be quite tiring and lacked motivation, until my father-in-law helped us completely gut a bathroom, remodel/move our kitchen, and move a stairwell in our old house: all about 10 years ago... though now he's dealing with rotator cuff issues and even friends I try to enlist just are either too old, or not interested in working, for any amount of money. So, I'm stuck going it alone - I'm studying a few really great books on 'Shed Building' that I've used to help a lot, even telling me which nails/fasteners to use, how to space them, and how to 'hang' siding.

OMG, yes, the weather as you mention 'torrential rains', I was racing snowfall, which is to come tonight, to get all the outside work done, which I've nearly completed. Now, to get the heating going and do the rest of the work inside the building will probably feel like a dream compared to the really physical last 2 weeks working outside nearly every day, at least there was no rain and it heated up nicely (into the 50's-60's) some days... This construction market is a flipping nightmare as you say... and I just want to finish and get on with playing, my swing can't be getting better with all the hammering, sawing and cutting I've been doing.

Thanks for the info and help... I really like how you have the hardwoods bumping right up to your mat on the sides... great work there, did your supplier call for that or did you make the decsion? Also that cabinet for the computer, that has your keyboard on, and are those audio patch cables in that outlet box? Those little things like that make builds look so much better... I may not get there at first, as I'm so eager to start hitting! Enjoy... maybe I'll see you up on TGC2019, if you play that.

The mesh is netting but with very fine holes. It seems quite strong and I think the weight of it hanging just absorbs energy.

The EYE XO doesn't require dots on the balls. That's one of the things that helped me decide to use it.

We skyed a number of balls until we cut some tees down to the right size. Dents in the drywall that I'll repair once I have the top netting.

We've been playing and hitting a lot in the last week and I don't think more than a couple balls hit the side netting with any force. They just swayed the netting and dropped harmlessly to the floor. I think the weight of it really sucks up the energy.

The hardwood was our idea. We were going to use laminate but the hardwood was only a couple hundred more. I installed it myself in a couple short days,

In another week I'll have a picture of the door and I think you're going to like it. /little mystery

2.) Looking closer at ceiling it looks like I see slotted angle iron around top, but what type of material (foam or something) that appears glued to the ceiling inside of the angle iron? is that stopping high shots or bouncing them down to the screen when hit?

3.) Hardwoods look great, good job on the install.

As per a previous post. I bought my complete setup from Par2Pro as that was what my wife agreed to. The supplied all turf, hitting mat, netting etc. but nothing indicates the source.

The slotted angle iron is fastened to the ceiling and walls. The screen is attached to the angle iron using bungees which provide tension for the screen. The balls hit without much noise and then drop almost straight to the floor.

The netting is attached to the angle iron which runs from the screen out 7 feet and is spaced 6 inches from the wall. The netting is attached with zip ties. I had to send the top netting back for resizing and to add grommets to the sides but my plan is to zip tie the top netting to the same angle irons as the sides. I am putting screw eye hooks into my strapping at a spacing which will be determined by the hang of the netting. I plan to use bungees from the screw eyes to the netting so it hangs down at a reasonable distance. The top netting will have velcro around all four edges. Between the screen and the top netting there is a wide piece of felt which sticks to the velcro. Between the screen there is a narrower piece of felt that sticks to the velcro as well. I have bought a felt strip (It came from Cabelas (Trailer bunk padding)) similar to what Par2Pro supplies to cover the area between the top and side netting. Finally. I am attaching velcro down each wall and across the ceiling and along the edge of each piece of netting so I can attach strips of the bunk padding to finish off the front gap.

The turf is actually 3/4 inch thinner than the hitting mat. I didn't like this so bought 3/4 inch foam gym mats from Amazon. I looked at every other suggestion and idea people had and this seemed best to me. It also turn out out to be the most economical solution to boot. The feel is amazing and the level matches the hitting mat exactly so it make for a much better feel for putting. Not that feel or level means anything to the sensor after it leaves the hitting mat.

LMAO about the sound. I am using that receiver because I bought it back in about 1985 as part of a very high end system I put together. It suited my needs as it allowed me to choose multiple sources and had jumpers to separate the amp and preamp. I took the preamp out and fed my power amp which was an absolute monster. Earlier this year I was contacted by a collector who told me he was interested in my power amp as it was extremely rare. I hadn't turned the system on in over 10 years so it wasn't hard to part with it for a literal bucket load of money. All that said. We decided we needed sound and I had a perfectly good amp sitting in the basement so I used it. I am only using two speakers right now as finding speakers narrow enough to not intrude on the space is very difficult. I may finish a real sound set up after I have all the ends tied up with this. BTW. It turns out audio gear from that era is very sought after now as the gear then was aimed more at quality than price as it is now. Sorry for the side discussion. LOL A little tip. Never get top quality anything unless you are willing to pay for it forever. Once you've heard real high quality sound, everything less is just noise. When I used my sound system (Before wife and kids) I would listen to music for hours every day. Now it's just a background....

Thanks Questor - I'm getting a better understanding now and sorry for having to ask questions several times... I finally put together it's all Par2Pro setup, with some of your own additions thrown in... so, you got to do a little customization ... I'll likely contact Par2Pro and ask them some questions. Did Par2Pro send you the Angle Iron then? it sounds like they likely did, and I still wonder about that side material, it sounds like netting of some type - but it looks like it's more of a sheer (thin) fabric instead. It's not real important, as I have a Window on the right side I put in, so I'll need some serious protection there, another post I saw mentioned standing up a piece of pegboard in front of the window, just in case, likely what I'll do, but I also need to block the light coming in from the window as well, so have just received today my blackout curtains that I will hang there. They should do a good job of handling that just fine - giving me a better (darker) look to project onto the screen and dropping the ball as they are heavy.

Oh, yes, the material you bought at Cabelas - I think is called 'bumpers' for the sides/tops. I've heard of several places to pick that material up such as from Marine/Boating stores for boats, and also other type of padding/foam material that will fit just right, sounds like you found a good source for that, cool. I bought a huge roll of Velcro a few weeks back to use for these type of things, as well as my turf which I may velcro down around my hitting area.

Yep, that's a good idea on the gym mats and works perfectly... I will come to those conclusions soon - I just ordered a huge piece of turf to use for putting and covering almost my entire Sim area (I wanted it all in one piece), so will see how that goes... as I try to level it to my ProTee sensor. I've heard you have to be 1mm, or 2mm below the actual sensor mat - to make sure you don't catch your turf coming out of the Sensor Mat, so I'll be doing that as well.

Hey, we share a common interest in Audio! I'm also an audiophile, and have an ancient JVC solid-state amp that gets very high marks which I bought used probably 25 years ago, but the unit itself is probably from the same time of yours (1985 or so). I'm not willing to part with mine, so I kept it and also added in a 9.1 Atmos Surround sound receiver that also broadcasts Wifi signal to allow for stereo in up to 3 areas of your house (Denon AVR receiver) so, just wondering about your patch cables, sounds like you are using a AVR receiver to power the audio for your Uneekor? Do you have multiple speakers in the wall then for that?

I'll be posting pics of my build as I go along, I've started a post in the New Builds section I think... if you want to check out what I'm doing - it's going slow, but sure... I still plan to be done/completed by Thanksgiving - so can't wait!

The angle iron comes from Home Depot, but you can get it at other places too.

The amp I sold was a Sansui B-1. It was made for use in a club and would run 200 amps all night long, but was very high specs as well. It also had crazy protection. You could actually cross a speaker wire and it would go to protection mode rather than blow up like almost anything else would.The guy who bought it is a crazy serious Sansui fan and this one makes 5 he has. (There might be 6 or 7 left in the world) https://audiokarma.org/forums/index....lifier.340690/ He was paying an engineer $200 an hour to reverse engineer for repair. When he saw I had a service manual he was ecstatic. I wasn't using it and he is such a fan.

I also have a Phase Coupled Activator and an ADC Spectrum Analyzer. Some fairly rare birds these days.

When I was using the system I could get goosebumps just hearing fingers move across guitar strings and hearing the slight sounds nobody notices or even hears on a regular system. The little tick as the stick hits a drum.....
