  • Image size vs image quality?

Trying to decide what size impact screen to go with. I could do as much as 16 ft x 9 ft, but I'm concerned about losing some image quality with such a large screen. I will use a 1080p projector and a higher end laptop/GPU for fast/smooth graphics at that resolution. What is a good balance of image size vs image quality?

    Thanks in advance.

Nobody regrets going as big as their available space, up to 16x9 or so. Image quality from a good HD projector will look great at that size... just slight pixelation on small text, but fairways, trees, and greens look nearly the same as with a 4K projector.

We like and install this one regularly - all the reasons we like it are listed in the product description: https://store.gunghogolf.com/BenQ-TH...NEW-p265749740

Heard a lot of good things about this projector but wouldn't you need a large throw distance to project this image on a 16 x 9 screen? Would have to throw from 12' 1", correct? Or use full zoom and project from 11'1". Is there a way I could get this image from a shorter throw range?

I use the projector above with an 8 x 14 screen and looks great

My screen is close to 9x16. The image looks fine for playing sim golf. You can tighten up the pixilation with a smaller image but having a larger image makes you feel more immersed in the experience.

GungHoGolf is spot on... nobody complains about too big. I did the too small route when I first got into simulator golf, and then had to rebuy everything to make it larger...

I've used the TH671ST and it is a great projector, I sold it because I was able to rearrange my room to make use of my home theater projector which is a high-end 4K JVC. While there is definitely a difference, if you start with the TH671ST you will never know the difference.

If you do buy it, Ron is a great resource. I peppering him with phone calls at the early stage of my build out. If I would have listened to him the first time I probably wouldn't have had to rebuy everything . I also bought two Holy Grails from him and couldn't be happier.
