  • Sub-base for hitting mat

My practise hitting mat sat on artificial grass, which I have now removed. The mat now sits directly on to a concrete floor and I don’t like the feel. It has little give.

what, if anything, do you have below your mat?

I built a subfloor - when I get to my computer I’ll post pics for you, it’s basically 2x4’s laid on side (for joists), then 3/4” OSB plywood on top of that, followed by 3/4” gym tiles (2’x2’), then Club Champion putting turf with padding already on it (another 3/4”).

Dricore sub-floor, gym tiles then mat is what I would recommend in your situation. Provides both a slight thermal and moisture gap over the concrete.

Great stuff. I appreciate the help - I’m sorted.
