I've roughed in a dedicated room for a new simulator (pics attached!). Unusual aspects compared to pics that I've seen of other setups:
- My ceiling starts at 10'3" on the short side and goes to 12' on the tall side against the house.
- The room is 15'6" from short side to the house, but it goes another few feet to the left of where the impact screen will go (an exterior door will be at the end of that). So I could do a wider screen, it just wouldn't be centered in the main 15'6" room width.
- For perspective, the two boards that are standing up by each side of the room where the impact screen will be are 15' apart, from outer edge to outer edge.
- add a soffit to at/near the top of the impact screen area to square up the top of the enclosure material (basically framing in the screen for about 5'-10' using the walls and soffit for an enclosure) or
- leave the sloped ceiling alone through the whole room right up to the screen such that balls hitting above the screen hit padding on a very small soffit or material that would need to be hung to duplicate a soffit (can't have balls going over the screen, after all).
