Complete build (nearly)

Had my first week with the newly completed Mevo+ simulator. Here is the original post of my needs and location constraints:

I have our barn that was approved by the wife to be the simulator location, but I had to be able to remove things to make the room useable for non-sim activities. I went with a Metech roller to hide the screen and the curtains and netting are all attached with carabiners and eyehooks. The projector has a quick release as well.

It’s pretty tight, 8” screen to wall (with lights!), 10.5’ screen to ball, 7.5’ ball to Mevo+. I’m very happy with the club readings (once I accepted that I had to learn how to hit indoors and off the mat). The screen is 13’ x 10’.

I need to add some green carpeting in front of screen that can roll up but I’m using an old hitting mat currently that works. I’m not going to putt so just need something to deaden the bounce.

Really appreciate all the help from the community on the build (@brettster) Super pleased with the results. Now time to practice (and pay it off 🤕 😂).

Congratulations Anytechie - you've done it! Great job too - and I love the video showing behind the screen. That's awesome to see that even with only 8", the ball comes nowhere near close to the wall in back... as long as you have your screen bungeed and properly secured. Did you end up going with 1 screen, or did you also add the Photo Backdrop too, just curious.

You've done some awesome work fitting that into your space!

Just the screen with the hitting net behind it. Paul from onestopsim advised and he was right. Works/looks great but definitely not budget friendly.

I was gonna do baffles on the ceiling but strung up the net and tried to launch balls off the ceiling and really didn’t have much blowback - the angle is too severe to come back at the hitter. But time will tell!

The Chicago canvas curtains kill everything to the left and right.

I just wish I had another 10 feet of depth! 😂

Are you getting any ball burn on the screen and which screen is it? I have a 'seconds' of the 801 from Paul ( https://onestopsimshop.com/collections/standard-screens ), he's great to work with for sure, very knowledgeable. I noticed he's now offering a 'screen saver' 2' x 10' piece of screen you can hang in front of the main impact area to cut down on wear/tear on a screen, here it is:

I can see that... the net is probably strung tight enough to act as a good enough barrier... a good choice as it blocks everything. My baffles have never failed, come to think of it, I don't think I've hit many balls into them either, they are up so high. Most of my 60 wedges hit just above the screen in the last baffle (about 8' high).

They sure do, how are you hanging those, off a wire? I have actual blackout curtains on a rod on the right. The left, just gym mats hanging on the wall, hardly ever get a ball over there.

Yes, I hear you on that... I just wish I had another 6" - 10", but it is what it is... I looked at adding 4' when I was building, and it was very expensive because I would have had to pour another foundation in that spot (the current foundation is a tiny little 'driveway' type strip of cement that slopes down. I think I could have gotten away with it now - as it would be right at the screen anyway... but of course I would have had to add on 2'-3' to each side wall, and move the back wall and add 2'-3' to the center beam of the shed and extend the roof. Overall quite a bit of money to just add that tiny little bit of depth. I would have loved to go 10' - but that encroached on property line! Oh, well, I'm making do with it the way it is, it isn't too bad, I'm barely at 6' from ball to wall - that's a little tight, but not for me, maybe my friends might have a problem.
