  • My 3 month build

Finally got to a point where I can hit balls. Still need a hitting strip which I think I will build myself. Thanks to GungHoGolf for ongoing advice along the way. I have an odd shaped room and originally I was going with the cage approach, I got as far as building the cage out of 1.25” EMT before I decided it wasn’t going to work, I kept the front frame and ditched the sides.

    PC custom build

    Intel Core i5-12400F 2.5 GHz 6-Core Processor
Asus PRIME B660M-A WIFI D4 Micro ATX LGA1700 Motherboard
    Silicon Power GAMING 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory
EVGA XC GAMING GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB Video Card
NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GT 850 W 80+ Modular ATX Power Supply
    256 GB SSD

    Eagle impact screen (Gungho golf)
Money Putt turf (Gungo golf) on top of 1” Eva interlocking tiles Amazon)
    Mevo+ (Gungho golf)

wall and ceiling pads were all made from foam board and various foam materials. Covered with marine vinyl
    - wall panels are all 2” foamboard with 2” memory foam
    - ceiling panels are 1” foamboard with 2” memory foam
    - all panels a ball is likely to strike are 0.5” ply with 2” memory foam plus 2” regular foam

Hitting strip - considering making my own.

I still need to mount my monitor on the wall and add few things to make it more organized. Also think I need to add some more lighting, I prefer the look with the main lights all off but need some sort of spot light on the hitting area.

Very nice! What are the dimensions of that space?

12’ wide ceiling is over 11’ at peak and comes down to 7’2”. It’s 35’ long. I brought my side posts in a little so I could get slightly more height on screen. I have to hit offset from center a little so not ideal but it worked out pretty good.

Screen size ended up at around 10’x7’ of actual display area. I do have to hit off center.

Looks great! I'm looking to do something similar on the walls. Could you share specifically what black panels you went with?

Do you find the 10x7 screen is large enough? I'm planning my build now and trying to understand if it's necessary to have a screen that 16:9? Yours looks perfect in the photos so do you adjust how it's shown via the projector?

Love the look of everything! Can you share more info on making the panels and how they are adhered to the walls and ceiling?
