    Hey everyone,

Golf sim newbie here, working through my first ever build.

I've mounted my projector (Optoma 4k400STx) and set up for my screen, which is roughly 14' wide x 10' high. The aspect ration defaulted to 16:9 when I turned it on, which I assume is what I want to run GS Pro. I had to focus it down a few notches on the projector to get it to fit width-wise, and, as shown here, leaves me with a couple of feet blank space on top and bottom.

This is my first time working with a projector also, so just wondering if I did this correctly. Is there another way I should be setting this up to better maximize my available screen space, or is this correct?

    Thanks in advance!

Projector central has a good tool that shows you the screen size you'll get based on the distance from the screen:

Calculate the perfect throw distance and screen size for your Optoma 4K400STx projector with the ProjectorCentral Projection Calculator Pro.

Your screen size is much closer to a 4:3 ratio then 16:9.Try changing the aspect ratio on the projector.

Start to a sweet looking sim set up I must say! I would agree, try changing the aspect ratio. However, I have been through this as well and I have the same blank space on the top and bottom of my screen. I've been too busy enjoying every second of the sim that I haven't bothered to try and fix it. Honestly, after a few games, you don't even notice it anymore. Good Luck.

Increase the zoom on your projector to fill the entire HEIGHT of the screen, then set a custom resolution using the Nvidia control panel (assuming you have one of their GPUs) to fill the WIDTH of your screen. More info in the below sticky:

(Not sure if I made this sticky the right way or not, but this should be a sticky topic) Making your Projected image (resolution) match your screen size at the SAME resolution as your Monitor (even though they're different!) Ok, this has come up lots of times and many many people in the computing world think you cannot have

His projector does not have a zoom function as is common with 0.50 or so throw ratio projectors.. In order to fill the screen you have to move the projector further from the screen if possible. The if possible has two parts i.e. if you can physically move it back does it create shadows from the person hitting..
