  • New Build Help On Angled Ceiling

I have 3 options and not sure what to do.
    1- Make it 11.5 x 7.5
2- Make tt as big as possible and angle the left corner. 11.5 x 7.5 up to 9-10 feet
    3- Make it 8.5 x 10.5

I have a mevo + and I will be hitting from 8 feet back of screen.

I think one has to think about what type of shots you and perhaps other might be hitting. My screen is 8 ft high by 12 ft wide and the enclosure is 8 ft 8 in by 12 ft 9 in at the front. The enclosure extends 7 ft back from the front and the EMT is covered by netting on the top and sides.. My hitting area is 11 ft from the screen.

I have seen wedge shots hit the top of the enclosure many times and driver shots have hit the wall just outside the area covered by the netting. Well yes, I have some hacker friends.

So, if your hitting area is 10 ft from the screen and you hit a 30 degree wedge shot, it will strike the screen just under 6 ft above the bottom of the screen/hitting area height. That is, Tan 30 degrees times 10 ft. If the wedge shot is hit at a 40 degree launch angle the ball will hit just inder 8.5 ft above the bottom of the screen/hitting area height. That is Tan 40 degrees times 10 ft.

I also have seen driver shots hit the top of the enclosure netting, so yes sky ball.

I find the my setup works well for lefty righty swings. I have hit on a setup with a 10 ft wide enclosure and screen and it felt tight to me.

    Anyway, I hope this helps.

Is 7.5 for height to small if hitting from 8 feet? I just feel like it would look the cleanest, but how would I approach the higher shots? Could I put all padding above the net, or what could I do?

The pic of my room is above.

A 45 degree wedge shot would hit the ceiling even from 8 feet. That would be a high wedge shot to be sure but lob shots.
8 feet from the screen feels tight to me. Anyway, some type of ceiling protection will likely be needed. I use a thick cloth material for mine on top of the netting. Still heard a sky ball driver shot hit the ceiling.
