Garage simulator build

Starting my garage sim upgrade. I've been using this setup for the past 4 years with optishot and net return pro. Works great but lacks useable ball data. Purchased a gc2 without the hmt, new desktop, fsx software, benQ projector, supertex screen 8x14 and a sportscreen motorized drop down screen that I am planning to attach the supertex with Velcro on top of the existing sportScreen. I can't see that anyone has tried this but I'm hopeful it will work. All suggestions are welcome, thanks to all the members who have posted their experiences.

Is the velcro on the sportscreen hook or loop. Need to know before I order the custom impact screen.

Yes it is. But are you planning on using the sports screen behind the impact screen?

Its hook and loop. but your going to need to buy some more stick on velcro also and attach it to the roller just above the sports screen or like I did and and just stuck it to the sports screen itself. The sports screen doesn't have velcro sewn to the front side at the top unless you had them add it?

For me, it was adhesive backed hook Velcro attached directly on the roller
i had a custom sportscreen order, so they installed an additional Velcro strip on the roller for me, just above the Velcro used to attach the black sportscreen to the roller
Bought a "raw" impact screen and had loop Velcro sewn onto the top of the impact screen by a local seamstress

I've hear back from Sportscreen, they are adding loop to the roller for me and deleted the hockey target to offset the cost. Just ordered screen from Carls with hook sewn on top.

domino Hows your sports screen holding up? I'm starting to see significant amount of wear in mine and almost have 2 holes in it. I have only had mine up for a month and know yours has been up longer.

Hitting into it for about three months and still seems to be holding up well - no noticeable wear or holes

Do you keep your screen tight when hitting, metal bar on or above the ground, or loose, metal bar resting on ground with some give on the sportscreen?

My sportscreen is holding up exceptionally well. No mechanical issues. The black screen that comes with the sportscreen will never wear out as it doesn't take any significant abuse. The white impact screen is a different matter. I have two teenage boys hitting into the screen daily with 110-115 mph club speed. My first screen (supertex) was quickly showing signs of wear. It was weighted on the bottom with a rod. I made a few changes that seem to be working well. I purchased a screen from dbgolf (fellow member on this site). The screen is much heavier and I simply let it hang off the roller without a weighted bar at the bottom. It doesn't really require tensioining on the sides but if I want to improve the picture quality, I will tension it with tarp clips and velcro. It shows no sign of wear after 7 months. It's probably due to a number of factors. 1) less downward tension 2) far superior material 3) I left the prior supertex as a backing/baffle. The golf ball has very little rebound now and it is much quieter.

Domino - I have the sae sportscreen and Supertex set-up. My are holding up fine, but the screen is pretty wrinkled from be rolled up most of the time and then Down only for hitting. Did you notice that? any suggestions ? Might try some side tension, but an worried about bounce back. Thanks

Domino do you know the part number for the 80/20 t-slot you used or what series. I am in the process of building a similar set-up like yours. TIA

Did you buy the top netting from Par2pro? If not could you please share how you did your ceiling it looks great! I have a very similar build.
