Basement Simulator Set up tight space

Trying to set up a simulator in my basement. Space across is 11'8" hitting too. Across is 11'2". Ceiling no problem. Need ideas on now to hang net (thinking about Carl's impact screen) (very little room for bounce back) and how to get net to not stick out so much so a driver does not hit the top of the net on full extention. Wedge through 3 iron probably no problem. LIkely will hang tv on wall to my east (when hitting north). Any thoughts appreciated. Have mat pick squared away and Track man. thanks

To be clear, are you saying that your room is only 11'8" deep by 11'2" wide? Because Trackman needs something like 12 feet from the ball to the screen, and another 8 feet from the Trackman to the ball. If you are concerned that your driver is going to hit the net, I don't see how the Trackman is going to work.

Sorry meant SkyTrack is what I am considerting: Got this from a buddy who has one:
For the SkyTrack simulator that I have, the distance from club head impact to the net (or impact screen) doesn’t matter, because all the data is measured by photo metrics in the first 12” - 18” from club head impact.

What is your length, width and height. Need all of these so people can provide opinions.

Sounds like an elevator shaft. Your height is fine and the width is workable, but you'll be hitting off center. Your length is a serious concern. You probably need a minimum of 6-8" behind the screen. I think you need about 5' behind you to swing a driver, but it depends on your swing plane, driver length, arm length, etc. That would put you at about 6' from the screen which is really close. If you can get the exact distance you need behind you to swing with a driver, then you should be able to get some better feedback.

That's pretty tight. Full extension on a driver is probably 10' (5' back & 5' forward). I had a net setup for a while before I mounted my screen, the closest I could hit into it from was 7' back

what course basement do you have, I am in the process of building a home and going 14 course basement.

Not sure what you are referring to? How high is ceiling?

I just moved into a new house with a 13 course basement. Just put up enough of sim last night to hit balls. My floor to joist height is just over 8'6". I can actually switch a driver but I have to be within mm of hitting ceiling. 14 course should be good. 15 no question would be good.

I will have the simulator built under the family room which is 18' x 18' and 14 course up 9'6" was planning to dig 2' lower in that spot and make the screen 15' wide 9' high and the depth at 15'

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't think you will be able to fit a sim in that room. As Kent said your ceiling height and room width is fine, it's the length that's a problem. Just looking at the 2nd picture of the follow through you have zero room for a screen. You will be hitting the screen with your follow through. I think at minimum you need 14 feet. Maybe there is room to swing mid to short irons.

How do you get to this new room(Length: 11'8" width: 11'2" Height: 12'+)? Like what is connected to this room? Is the room connected to your(golf room) bigger? Something you can think about is putting in barn doors that slide open the full width of your room. When you want to golf you can open the bar doors and put your hitting mat half in your golf room and half in the connecting room. When you are done push the mat back in the golf room and close the barn doors/sliding rooms or no doors at all.

Good idea but unfortunately I have a backstop, my actual house foundation (can't move it) so make my space finite. Think I might buy nice mat and cheap net to start and start with wedge and short irons and see how it goes. Then maybe consider how to do full simulator and better ball stop etc.

Not near enough space. Even if you put everything in that you need and you think you can swing some clubs freely, the closed in space will effect your swing mentally and you'll just be making these ginger little swings. It's not worth even messing with it in a space that small.

Yeah, that brings up a few things:
1.) that Net Return net seems a bit small (7'x7' would not be enough for me, I want to do at least 4:3, and possibly 16:10 will have to see as I'm waiting to finish walls to know exact width/height.

2.) On the Carl's screen, I've heard many good things about these, and I've also heard good things about using plain Archery netting. From a video I found somewhere they make a comparison of Archery netting with a tightly woven impact screen, and the issue is that with the tightly woven screen the picture does not appear that much better as you are dealing with such large pixels anyway at that size, to me the Archery netting looked better at a distance than the premium screen material - from that video.

Maybe someone can confirm that - that has both materials, as I will soon be at that point of picking an impact screen/netting very soon?
