Sim HDCP vs Real HDCP

From what I've read, it seems that the majority of people have a much better sim HDCP vs their real life HDCP. Does anyone else have a significantly higher (more than 50%) sim HDCP vs their RL HDCP?

My current HDCP is 5.2 and my avg score over the last 20 rounds is 78.6. I have one more round to go for TGC q-school and i think I will easily be north of double digits. This isn't exclusive to TGC, I had the same thing with optishot and P3, although not nearly as high, maybe just a few strokes more than my normal HDCP.

For some reason, I just play better outdoors than in, even with a perfect lie every time.

I played my first q school round last night and had a 90 which is slightly higher than I normally do on my sim and IRL but acceptable. I am a 13 handicap IRL though I have been known to have a wide dispersion of scores. This morning I was trying to squeeze in my second round before work and I just was not prepared to be playing. I hit numerous shanks and a lot in the water. I dont see any posts on here about how the handicap is figured but I know in USGA system this score I am going to shoot when I finish later on would be thrown out. Is that the case with TGC handicaps also? Also there is a cap on scores by hole in the real handicap system. Is that the way it is here also? I dont want anybody to think I am sandbagging later on because I have shot some rounds in the 70's when playing non tournament rounds. Hopefully this is accounted for like a USGA handicap.

Well, after I got rid of the tin cups, the thing I notice is my handicap is about 10 strokes higher. Actually it is 13 but only 4 rounds and I did have that horrible day. I would say I lose at least 10 a round in the short game just being so different. I need to do some practicing on these 20-60 yard shots. They just are hard to get used to on sims.

For the long time players of TGC that have played TGC real course creations and that have also played the "actual" real course how similar/real life are the TGC courses from both a feel and scoring perspective? I have tried to find videos of real courses and the recreated TGC course to make visual comparisons without much success. The problem is that unless I am missing something you can't just access a hole on a TGC course-- you need to actually play every hole that precedes the hole you want to see/explore.

It will vary depending on the course. Some will be very accurate while others bare very little if any similarity. Some then capture the length and direction to get the feel but the elevations, greens and bunkers are not all too accurate. Magnolia National is an Augusta recreation and about as accurate as one could get which is great. Check out my YouTube channel which has me playing a number of courses and is growing each week. You can jump around in the video to see a few holes and compare it to real life videos. You will see on the Magnolia National ks man corner that Amen corner at Augusta is brilliant.

ks-man I actually have watched your videos--they are excellent and thanks for putting the time into recording and uploading them on You Tube. I agree, your Amen Corner is brilliant and thanks for that and also want to thank you for your lists--very helpful. I am assuming that my statement above is correct-- that there is no direct access to a hole in TGC. That is a shame because most times I would like to see/explore a course without having to commit to playing the full course.

Wish I could claim I designed Amen Corner but I definitely did not. Craig L (theclv24) did the design. He just named Amen Corner after me since I had asked him to release a 3 hole course so much. Skip a hole is supposedly going to be released in the next version. What you can do now is press the Q key and use the W, A, S, and D keys to navigate your way through the course. You can use the camera in a free mode that way.

I've played Glen Abby, Chambers Bay and I've walked Augusta extensively. The TGC version are dead on.

I'm eight holes through Bethpage Black by BoomBoom and though we only have the regular 7500 yard version to play at them moment I can say it is incredibly accurate as well.
