Hi to all from the land down under.
I found this great site through another golf forum.
I've been playing golf for roughly 30yrs not including the 6yrs holiday I took off after becoming totally frustrated with the game after failing dismally trying to get near scratch. Lessons and near 1000 balls a week on the range can wear you down quick over 2 years when it goes backwards. I took it up again 4rs ago and got back to mid singles hcp in a couple of months and holding it there not practicing between fortnightly rounds.
Through some bad luck and an unfortunate loss I'm slowly coming to the realisation that I'll never get my favourite week end toy going again. With that I've decided to sell off the Hatch Torana shell that's occupying half of the massive shed I have. The original plan was to just set up the net and mat I have in the shed in that space but after finding this site those plans have now taken a bit of a detour.
I have plenty of space to set up a simulator and take it to a level I didn't know was possible at home. The sale of the rolling shell and the multitude of other bits should be enough to pay for a reasonable home simulator. The whole idea will be to build it in stages starting with a Skytrak launch monitor running it through the iPad using my current mat and net than add the screen and projector later.
Not sure if I want to go the whole hog and play courses or just for practice purposes. Looking at what others have done has given me plenty of ideas and I'm sure once I started I'll be in here asking for help.
Sorry for the long rant Hatch
