New member and a question about handicaps

I'm building a Skytrak setup, and have found tons of useful information here. One thing I was wondering if how close is your simulator handicap to your real golf handicap? Hopefully all of my parts will arrive next week. I am really stoked to have a setup i can practice on whenever i feel like it.

ummmm, not close for myself. I finished the year in real golf at a 9. The limited amount of rounds (10-20) has me at a 28. Chipping putting just kills me but so it goes. I never entered tournaments or tours in the past because of the high handicap but my thinking has changed. It's all about fun! I'm in no matter how bad I suck.

My tour HC is 18ish. In real life you can add 5-15 on to that. But I've also only been playing for a little over a year and I don't get to play the real thing as often. Someday I'll have more time....

I'd say my online handicap is about 4 lower. No wind, and perfect lies makes the online courses play easier, not to mention 6 foot gimmies.

Thanks for the replies. Do you think your time on the simulator has translated to improvements on the course?

My real handicap is about 4 strokes lower...14 vs 18 on sim golf. I think as time goes on by Sim will be lower than real or equal out.

I found this to be true. Once you figure out the chipping and putting, it will come down quickly.
