Hi guys,
I don't know if anyone will read this but I wanted to thank this forum.
So about a year and a half ago I started lurking these forums to plan my perfect golf room. I was able to take the information from this forum on my house buying expedition in Atlanta to pick a house that works perfectly to set up a simulator (well i could use higher ceiling for my tall friend but screw them).
Timeline:
March 2016 - from Philly bought a 8 by 14 foot putting green in GA to be picked up in July.
April 2016 - I was a lurking on these forums trying to figure out the best way to build my simulator including what hardware i should use and how i should set up my enclosure. The most influential was BamaGambler's post, http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...my-sim-project .
May 2016 - bought GC2 with FSX on Ebay (btw its the hardest thing in the world to own a GC2 and have no way to use it. I would take it to the range with my laptop and saw the identical ball flight and i was hooked)
June 2016 - bought a house (While looking for houses I would walk in and out of what most people would consider awesome houses in under 5 minutes if the house didn't have the golf room i was looking for. This drove my fiance nuts).
July 2016 - moved into my house and the putting green was the first piece of furniture. Then I ordered my HQ screen, claps, and netting from Par2Pro, ordered some turf from a GA turf company, and CCE mat.
August 2016 - my dad came for the installation (one of my favorite father son projects)
August 21, 2016 - the last piece came in the mail. I got my BENQ 1085ST projector and the set up was complete. This day is like a birthday to me. Although I have been really good previously in my life at the time my GHIN index was a 5.2.
September 2016 - Played a lot of indoor and IRL golf. I spent a lot of time figuring out which indoor balls to play. I decided I really liked the Titliest TuSoft which is the new So/Lo. Although i still like the TuSoft I have recently been playing the Bridgestone E6 soft inside and like it a lot. Holds up pretty well from a week or so of use.
December 2016- I finally caved and bought TGC from aeroburner and set it up with the help of him and Stingreye . Thanks again guys. Unlike most people, I waited to play in any net tournaments until i was pretty good at the game because I didn't want to be a sandbagger and start winning tournaments left and right with my high handicap but i won't get into there here. My first tournament was the matchplay championship where i played my first live round against Daddio . He is one of the nicest people I have ran into and was a pleasure to play again. We skyped the match and it was almost as if we were in the same room. We should do it again sometime Daddio.
January 17 - April 17 - I have played in numerous tournament including all the majors this year which I have done pretty well in on the gross side. It is an absolute blast so thanks to mthunt and keither5150 for everything you do and thanks DirtyGarry24 for just being yourself. During the winters i normally have to work a ton and being able to come home and hit some balls has made a big difference to my game IRL and just overall happiness in my life.
May 17 - present - I haven't used TGC that much because i have joined ClubCorp (which by the way is incredible if you travel a lot) but i have used FSX to work on my game. I can now draw and fade the ball with ease and use that to avoid hazards or sides of the green i dont' want to be on all the time. I am also getting really good at distance control from all yardages. I have figured my draw swing goes about 5 yards farther than my fade swing and if i choke up an inch it makes up for about 3 yards. On top of that i have figured out my yardages for every club if i only take it back to 9 oclock but still swing down full (generally takes off 15 yards) which takes off a lot of spin and stays low for when it is wind. All things considered my handicap index is now a 0.0 which is over 5 shots lower than a year ago and a big part of that is because this forum exists.
So thank you so much.

PS I need to go to a wedding tasting so ignore my spelling to now. the end was rushed.
