How often does anyone break or crack a ball? Since I've had my setup completed over the holiday break, i've now cracked two balls. My second one last night was a new Callaway Supersoft that couldn't have had more than 100 or so swings on it. It was done with a driver and I do not have a high SS (avg 93) or ballspeed (avg 135). When it happened it showed a carry of 138, i thought for sure it was a misread, then i picked up the ball and saw it was almost completely broken in half. I hit into a PR20 net that has an additional hitting net behind it. Just wondering if this is somewhat normal.

The balls should last a lot longer then that. Possibly you are teeing up the ball in the same orientation and thus hitting the same spot over and over. I found this to be a problem when I had a Vector Pro launch monitor which required a line on the ball facing the launch monitor. This resulted in hitting the ball in the same place continually. I eventually changed the way the line was drawn to provide more orientation options.
Since I got a GC2, which requires no ball orientation, this problem has disappeared and I now get well over 15 simulated rounds with the same ball. In fact I usually change it when the ball imprints start to disappear. The balls I am using are currently Prov1's but other balls have exhibited similar longevity.
BTW the ball performance pretty much stays the same until it develops a crack. This is obvious even if you can't see it by the drop in ball speed, in my case from 140 mph to something under 120 mph with a driver.
