  • Got a double eagle today

It's been in the 70's here in Michigan the last few days so I closed my shop for a few hours to golf one more outdoor round. And I double eagled the 17th hole at Berrien Hills! It was awesome. It's a 525 yd par 5 from the blue tees. Had a lot of wind behind me and I hit at least a 320 yard drive, high draw that started right and came back to the fairway. I was 250ish out so I hit my 2-hybrid. I thought I had put a little too much draw on it and put the ball in the river that runs along the left side of the hole. We both lost sight of the ball in the air and didn't see it land. So I took a drop over there and pitched onto the green. My playing partner pitched his shot onto the green and pulled the pin. We heard a ball bouncing around in the cup. He asked me what I hit and it turned out to be the Bridgestone B330 I had hit! I don't even have a hole-in-one yet. Anyway, just had to share.

Are you sure it wasn't a miss read.........

That is cool.... A 2 on a par 5.... and a real one at 525.

I couldn't believe it either and I was there! Nature must've glitched out on that 2nd shot.

I don't believe you got a Double Eagle at all!
            Now, an Albatross, yes!

Congratulations! At least twice in my life I've hit the "perfect" 2nd on a par 5 and without any site of the ball in or around the green, I've looked in the hole.
The first time, there was no sight of a ball but for all those out there hoping, the 2nd time I looked in and unbelievably, there was still no ball. Lost ball. Useless.
[Sorry for being pedantic over the "Double Eagle"?]

I almost pulled my 3 wood, but I had a good wind behind me.

Thanks! Haha, me too. Haven't even had any hole-in-ones yet in my business. I've made plenty of eagles on my sims, but never a double.

I've played golf since I was a young child. No hole in ones until a few years ago when I had 2 in a week, both in tournaments. Nothing since.

It's not totally random though because on both of them, I felt like they were going to go in mid flight. They came during a particularly good ball striking stretch with some other near misses.

Never have come close to a double eagle.

Feels weird having one. From 250 out with a bit of a tucked pin behind a bunker with a raised lip I never even saw the ball hit the green. We both lost sight of it in the air. When the guy I was playing with asked what ball I hit my first reaction was, "Did somebody leave a ball in the cup?" But the ball matched the one I hit in make, model, and number...

The ball has to go somewhere! Why not there.
