  • Windows 10 admin question

I have Optishot installed on my Windows 10 laptop under it's own Windows user account. The Windows user account is 'Golf Simulator', which is a standard Windows 10 user account, and has no administrative privileges. When I open up Optishot, Windows asks 'would you like to grant access for this program to make changes to your computer' or something along that line. The administrator's password has to be entered so Optishot can continue. I had set up a separate Windows user account for Optishot because I have guests over, and don't want them in my primary account on the laptop...but they can't get in to Optishot without using my password - makes it all pointless. Have tried to look this up on the web, trying to find a solution, but haven't come across anything for Windows 10 (there is a lot of info for Windows 7) that works. Does anyone else have a similar setup, and resolved this issue - granting Optishot admin privileges, while in a Windows standard user account? Appreciate any help.

You can run the Optishot application in Admin mode while you are logged in to a "guest" account.

Right click on the Optishot App icon and choose 'Run as Administrator'. That should take care of the issue.

There are a few files that optishot needs write permissions on that could be giving you issues. As administrator, try changing the permissions to the optishot directory to allow write access by all users. So run-as administrator explorer.exe, It's right-click on the optishot directory under program files, select properties > Security and select full control. Also look in C:\Program Data. If I recall there is an optishot folder in there too.

Or, do as in the post above.
