  • Optishot Ballflight Testing

I finally found some footage of the Optishot Ballflight simulator. This is from Par2Pro, and they have stated that there will be more in depth footage as well as comparison to other launch monitors such as the TrackMan.

Are they not measuring side spin or spin axis? I don't see it in the readings.

When the guy walks up to the screen with the camera, you can see side spin in the upper left corner. The balls are marked. For 5 k, it better measure side spin. Not sure how popular this will be without access to 3rd party software. Who would be willing to switch from TGC to Optishot software? Anyone? I see this as a 3.5 k product if it wants to gain any traction.

keither5150 So it's not in the shot data screen then, that doesn't make any sense to put it somewhere else. I don't see this being popular with anyone outside of their company. The price point is wrong, the graphics are behind and you have to mark and place the ball. This isn't even mandatory with skytrak, but they do suggest it to possibly improve it. I wish that TGC had the option to select the holes though like other software can. Their getting there with it at least picking which nine, so maybe someday.

It is on the data screen, it is just in the upper left hand corner. What I would like to see is that TGC takes the features of Practice mode and apply them to all courses. You choose, Play or Practice. Practice will allow you to drop the ball anywhere on the course. And stats will not count.

Hey keither5150 that is weird, on both videos the upper left in the data screen it shows club speed. First video at the 3:44 mark. Second video at the 0:37 mark, 2:02 mark, 2:49 mark, 5:22 mark. Can you let me know the time mark where you see side spin.
