I'm going to leave this link here. Feel free to look at it if you'd like. This is the highest swing speeds on tour in 2014. Notice their average and even the fastest swing they recorded in the entire season. The tour average for all players was 113 mph. Optishot isn't perfect and I think we all knew that when we bought it. But with calibration and tweaking, you can make it very representative of your real life results. If you average the same swing speed as some of the longest hitters on tour, then by all means, keep bombing it. But, if you know that your real life driving distance is being grossly overstated, please dial it down. This is supposed to represent a golf simulation as if we were all playing in our local dog fight on Saturday mornings at the club. This isn't meant to be Tiger Woods golf on Playstation. End rant/

There has to be standards that we have to go by. The "Board" needs to put together a set of standards and settings for the Optishot that EVERYONE has to follow as far as settings. With the Optishot and how squewed some of the results get....as long as we all have the same settings...who cares if someone hits it 360 off the tee. if they have the right settings and Optishot is letting them hit that....let them hit that. My real drives in the "Real World" are 315-320 average. Well i played a round with Catman and he had me doubting myself in everything, and I thought all my stuff was pretty darn good considering the time and effort i put into getting all this set up correctly. Point being we need to get the SETTINGS all the same, which is pretty much all we can control at this point. Its a game, make it fun. If someone has the same settings and hits it a little farther than everyone else..well..maybe this is more real world that we think.

The ProTee tour consists of ProTee system and GC2 users. We don't have a single player that can hit around 300 drive consistently, much less carry 300 on a flat hole even though the settings will allow it. If you guys agree to make it a video game league where everybody is hitting the ball longer than they do in real life, then so be it. But then you guys should stop accusing each other of cheating and just have fun.

I'm sorry Skulldaddy32 for questioning your 140MPH swing speed and telling you that players may have an issue with it. How silly of me. I didn't know you where the longest driver champion. It I knew that from the beginning I never would of questioned it.Last edited by CatMan; 12-17-2014, 05:31 PM.

Funny...even with that swing speed my drives still are only 320-350. Which is what i get in real life Get real dude...did you watch the longest drive....guess not... Have fun trying to get everyone on the same page guys. ITS 1 CLUB... coming from a guy who is a +6 handicap in real life and shoots -5 at St. Andrews...... Really. Have fun with that.

For the record... I wasn't accusing anyone of cheating. Just pointing out how high an average swing speed of 125-130 mph really is. Unless you went to a local golf store and got on a launch monitor, some of us would never know what our actual speed is. So I'm not hating on anyone that doesn't know. More of just an attempt to educate. Like MrHogan said, we're male and have this idea that we hit it much further than we actually do off the tee. I've kind of stirred some stuff up here and I really didn't mean for it to cause this much ruckus. My apologiesOriginally posted by Zmax View PostThe ProTee tour consists of ProTee system and GC2 users. you guys have to think this is just a game. No money involved(thank God for that) because then we would see guys driving par 5 In the end lets go out and enjoy a game of golf if it's with somebody or not and play a game we all love.
I could sit here all day and say I can hit it 350 yards and if I could or not nobody would believe me. I had my ups and down in the optishot community and have the pointed the figure at me but I came to the conclusion I just don't care anymore. I could see if guys are shooting 18 under then yes I would raise a suspicion but the odd poke out at 320 is not a big deal. I will give you a great example that's its drive for show and putt for dough.
Catman I'm using you had an example. I played and watched catman play around and I notice he doesn't hit it over 250 to often. But where he does excel at is his iron play and his shortgame and his putting to where he shoots under par consistently. Now take me for example. I can hit it over 300 in optishot and IRl ,but The point I'm trying to make is I shoot over par in optishot a lot higher then I di IRl And you know why I shootover par(drum roll please) it's the short game that's kills me.
So if you want to compare real golf to optishot then maybe work on the short game Instead of having debates on how fast your swing is compared to how far you hit it. If you ever watch the pros play it's not th big drives that makes the scores go low but the chipping and putting just like I find in optishot.Last edited by Willymakit; 12-17-2014, 05:10 PM.

Willy,
It's easier to hit it close with a 9 iron than with a 5 iron or 3 wood.. Being long hitter is an advantage. No doubt about it. I've seen your videos. Maybe if you would take your time, you would putt and chip better. You don't seem to take any time at all when putting, which as we all know, is a very important part of the game. So, what's the rush? Do you get points for having the faster round?

Yes hogan I hit it 350 yards on every hole on optishot even though my stats say 286. I guess maybe optishot should address that problem to.Originally posted by MrHogan View PostWilly I know you can hit 350 in optishot I'm saying I don't believe you average that in real life. Now it doesn't matter anyway if we all agree to use 100% then we all have the same advantage.

Your absolutely right you can do that and who really cares. Just keep it in the short stuff and make birdies. Will give you one more tip . If you can time it right and hit it on the toe of the club with a draw you can get 7 mh faster also.Originally posted by Craig118 View PostI could easily hit 300 y drives with Optishot just by over swinging. In real life I Ave 240-250 y which is what I Ave. On Protee. Only way I can hit 300 is with 30mph tail wind.

That's why you are given 14 clubs. But hitting a pw onto the green does not guarantee you a birdie either but it does raise the percentage bar a little higher.
And the reason why I don't take long is because I tend to over think the putt or chip and just make it worse. It's also very hard to guage a 30yard chip or a 20ft putt and all you can really read is the lines. So I'm not going to get worked up over just a game to amuse my time for the winter. Beats sitting on the couch.

Ok I think we all need to take a deep breath,
The Guidelines state that the speed and distance on Woods need to stay at 100, they can not be increased, if players wants to decrease them to match their Game that is ok.. However if a player is in question of increasing these settings, the board has a right to have video conference with that individual to see what he is hitting for a Ball, Foam or Nothing, they can check your settings for distance and Speed, and ball setting, and see if you can duplicate that on video. If you can not, then we have a problem. if you can end of story....
We can only hold players to a set standard, that standard has been set.. If a player can not back up their game play during a review by the Board, they are gone end of story...
Enough said on this topic,
Thanks,

Be carful when you do that, I have seen some of the local shops in Chicago jack up the sims just to sell clubs. You can actually turn a GC2 into a "game" if you wanted to.... Thats why you should always bring in your current club and alternate between what you have and what they want to sell you so you have an equal comparison...Originally posted by Vincent_Vega View Post

I'm not sure how accurate the HIgh definition golf is but every weekend a few guys will play 18. And what I notice from the stats they show are. My ball speed is about 170mh with a smash factor of 1.46.is the night to around 1.42 is the low So if you take that information your swing speed is about 116mh. But on hd simulator you don't get away with a top shot or hitting it underneath the ball like you would in optishot.Originally posted by Vincent_Vega View Post
