  • Calibrating with an SC300 or Mevo?

I never had my optishot work good enough to try this but as you can’t take it to the range to compare actual distances, could you calibrate club speed, general distance with one of these smaller cheaper launch monitors? That way your shots are more accurate. Anyone try this before?

I found the opti shot to be unable to calibrate with any consistency. It works OK if you average out a bunch of shots, but on an individual basis, it's just not good. It's really just a fun game to swing a club and hit balls and not much more.

Funny, I find the Optishot really works well with calibrated clubs. Irons with a slightly dull finish are spot on (within 5% of R-motion app, Zepp app, Tittle-X app). Phi was off the most. Drivers and Woods are were everything diverged. I seem to hit the Optishot furthest. I may need to dial the Optishot back a little. On a missed shot it shows a rare unrealistic hook for 300+ yards (it all is in the stance and swing). TittleX and R-motion seem about tied on Chip, flop, and Pitch; both very realistic. Optishot doesn't seem to measure club shaft angles and only records the face angle, so they make everything out of a sand trap a pitch-n-run. If the greens are fast, you really need to play sand traps with care. Assuming you have an Optishot, the biggest thing for making it realistic is getting a good thick stance mat with a cover that flattens the swing recording area. Ultimat2 is awsome.
They are all pretty good though. So keep swinging.

Did you use another Launch Monitor or device to calibrate your Optishot?

Humm... Not a bad idea. I think I'll get a Mevo to calibrate the Optishot! :-)
