  • Jagmanjoe turf......any issues/advice/recommendations ?

Hey fellas just wondering if anyone with the jagmanjoe turf has had any issues since installing it. Myself prior to new turf I believe I dialed in my swing pretty good. Since the new turf is installed I'm struggling with consistency while hitting an almost real ball. Take a few swings without a ball and things are on plane...put a ball on the tee and consistently reading closed face....as much as 15 degrees. .....really ?

I added new lighting due to the higher turf causing bit of shadow ( 2 led desk lamps right over the sensors)

Make sure you really clean out the cutouts. When i had it, i cut away some of the turf even more to try and help. The hitting spot is now much higher from the sensor rows and makes it harder for the optishot to read.

Hey wbond the cutouts are real clean....how do you find yours works before and after the haircut ?
I think I'll do that though.....cut it so that the opening are much wider

It helped, but to be honest optishot is just not good.

With all do respect to the detractors, Optishot can be a decent sim if you spend the time and effort setting things up. Yes, it only tracks the club and not the ball. Therefore, some shots read ok even though they may very well be fat or thin. I am currently using the R-Motion sim, but used the Optishot for several years. I still have the Optishot, but rarely use it. Anyway....

I had the jagmanjoe turf. Since the turf is much thicker than the original, the settings will need to be tweaked. This is due to the IR sensors being "further" away from the base of the club. The lighting also gets more critical. Make sure there is no daylight or standard bulbs. I utilized LED bulbs in all my lighting. I also used to direct lamps that shone on the sensor pad. All daylight was blacked out from my garage. I also trimmed the turf to make sure there were no fibers interfering. Finally, I taped all irons with a strip of white electrical tape. For the woods, I covered the bottom in black tape and then applied a strip of white electrical tape. All of these will help get the best results.

I also have both Optishot and R Motion. There is no comparison, the Optishot is a game and R Motion is much more of a simulator. The graphics on R Motion which is The Golf Club game is way above Optishot. The Optishot graphics a dull and unrealistic. If I hit a fat or thin shot on R Motion it is very close to real as it affects the ball flight and distance. Optishot I wiff the ball completely and it will register the shot.

Tks braycobb. Yes my garage windows are also blacked out. Have 2 led lights directly over sensors. I have a brand new set of irons therefore there nice and shinny still with what I assume is a good reflection. Do you still think I should tape them ?

I always taped my clubs regardless of sole condition. It just gave more consistent results.
