How to Stream/Record your rounds for upload to Twitch as required by Tour Guidelines

Probs with streaming,

hi folks. yesterday I had not so much time and tried 2 half round on optishot live after I installed and configured Twitch and OSB. Everything seemed fine, the preview showed exactly what should be: my optishot screen and the camera on the right in the middle.
Then I played my 9 holes each (before showing my taped clubs to the camera and clicking through my clubset. After finishing and stop streaming I started another half round.
But twitch showed none of my twor recordings. Afterwords I tried something with Twitch I do not remember exactly and my virus scanning software made some remarks.

May there be some interference from my avast antivirus too?

On Installation of OSB I tried some recordings which went fine on my desk before taking my laptop to the course and connect optishot pad and beamer.
Any ideas what to change in the settings? Till sunday I will not be able to play golf, but can test twitch connection well.

You may be streaming live, but Twitxh may not be archiving. So, the streams wouldn't appear after you finish streaming. You probably need to activate archiving on Twitch. Log on to Twitch and one of the settings under video manager is a check now for archiving.

Hopefully that is it. You also should run OBS as an Administrator.

Hi Braycobb, on initial configuring of my twitch account obviously the archive button was not activated although I intended it to be. I fixed it and now my first video is online (test while travelling by train).

I guess being on the Pro Tour I'm going to have to figure out something else for recording rounds. The laptop I'm using just can't handle recording and running Optishot at the same time. At least not in a capacity that I can tolerate it during a round of golf.

I've been using my Chromebook to record my screen, but I can't get it close enough to do a lot of good. I think I may have to try to get a different table and use the Chromebook to record my laptop screen.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Try using a screen recorder program such as totalscreenrecorder or camstudio and then upload it to YouTube after the round is over

Both are low resource usage and will capture your laptop screen which you can then upload

Give them a try and see if either work out for ya

Thanks, John. I will try those. I tried OBS just to record--no streaming and I couldn't even do that and run Optishot well.

Obs I think does a lot more encoding etc

Those recorders due record raw data so depending on your resolution the video sizes may end up very large. If thTs the case may have to use another piece of software to reduce the size

I believe handbrake is s good one

We still do have the option to record and just post to youtube correct? My comp can barely handle optishot haha

Yeah thats fine mate. Welcome to the Tour.. try the software I mentioned above for recording and then using Handbrake to reduce your video file size. Seems to be a popular method for other games where there cant use Twitch

Right click the OBS icon and "Run as Administrator"

You can also edit the shortcut, so right click on the shortcut icon, go to prooperties and select "Run as Administrator" check box and apply
