  • 4 of my infrared lights are out!

So 4 of my lights are out in the front row of my unit. It still registers shots but I'm assuming it can't possibly be reading 100% with those lights out.

I opened up the unit to look at the control board and R125 is broken.

Is R125 a 1500 ohm resistor? Can I buy and kind of 1.5k resistor and solder in as a replacement?

I touched a jumper between the solder points of the R125 and 2 of the 4 lights that are out went on. Touch a jumper between R123 and remaining other 2 go on. Could I just solder a jumper wire on r125 & r123 and the unit work properly?

I had the sensors go out on me a couple of times...here is a video on how I was able to get them back on. Not sure if it will help but thought Id throw it out to you.

      Thanks for the response.
I actually watched this before posting. It's definitely not a windows thing. Not sure if you looked at my pics but that resistor is definitely broken and if I put a jumper between the solder points of the resistor, by passing it, the lights turn on. The 3 other resistors for the front lights are good.

My question does anyone know it it will work correctly if I jump out that resistor ? Or can I buy a generic resistor and replace it?

Are ALL the lights lit up on the back sensor? I would contact support...they may replace your Optishot (they did it twice for me).

Did my link to the pictures not work? I'm curious. My pictures show what I'm talking about.

Entire back row is lit, only 4 of 8 front are out, the 4 in the center. I opened the unit up and can see the r125 resistor us broken in half. Also seen in the pictures I linked to. If I put a jumper around the resistor the lights then go on.

I bought this in 2016, have no idea where my receipts are. Not sure if they would still replace.

If I use it, it still works but I'm gonna assume it is not accurate at all with those lights out

FYI I ordered some resistors from Amazon for $5.00 so I'll probably try that

Nice work. Did you end up noticing a difference in the shots with the LED's working now?

Any chance you could make a quick video from start to finish on how you fixed this? That would be so helpful and much appreciated. Thank you

Yes, tested it with my wives clubs since I didn't feel like going down to the garage to get mine. Played exactly what I expected. I tried a cut, heavy draw and my normal baby draw shapes back to back to back and it all registered.

I’m having the same problem with my OptiShot, but it’s only the R123 resistor. I bought some 1500 ohm resistors off of amazon, but it made the lights too dim. I bought the 1W rated ones, so I wonder if that had any effect. Can you share which resistors worked for you? Also, did you just solder the new resistor on top of the broken one, or remove the broken one from the board? Thanks!

I removed the bad one, then soldered new one.

1/4 Watt resistor . Here is link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QGSV774..._sA.rFb0NQB6RR

Which ones did you purchase. My r123 is missing. I have 3 lights off and wondering if r121 is lose. I’m not a electronic guy but have a buddy at work could solder for me, need to know what to purchase on line, this is my old one from where optishot replaced it under warranty, we’ll the one optishot has lights out too, if I can fix this one I will have the other to fix, thank you look forward
D to your response, I depress lol, optishot is down, no fun when not reading correctly

Hi Guys, it looks like I’m having the same problem but the resistors on my unit are marked 47R0. Should I try and find those resistors or the ones you guys used should work? I got my unit used and there was a date on the back that says 2013 so maybe older units used different resistors?

                    Hi.On my Optishot 2.
3of the front ir sensors are destroyed. Hitt by a golfer . I am used to repairing electronics and can solder. But are there sensors to buy loose somewhere? I can not find what kind of ir diode it is. Anyone know the specification of them?

                      Hey permelita
ever find anything on these diodes? I'm having the same issue, and trying to find out what they are. Looks like there are sending and receiving IR diodes, But there are a vast array of them out there.

I have two sensors out as well. They are the third and fourth on the front from the left. I'll have to crack case open, but it appears I'll be buying resistors. To confirm, these are 150OHM 1/4Watt 1% tolerance Surface Mount resistors. It appears as so from the amazon link, but just trying to confirm. Thanks!

To all, excellent discussion and information. Just discovered, according to sensor diagnoses app, that 01 & 00 are out on my 6 year old OS2. First non software related problem I've had. Opened up the unit (had to drill out one screw) and sure enough R121 is burned out. Parts are ordered from Amazon, thanks Jaygord34 for the link, should arrive in the next few days and we'll see what happens.
Again, thanks for the discussion and info.

I have to replace four emitter lights and one transistor. The board is glued to a foam piece which is glued to the metal case. Any idea on separating the board and foam to get to the underside for soldering? Also, some semi conductors have a required lead position. The emitter or transistor parts have two leads. Do these leads need to be connected in a certain orientation? Thanks
