  • water on simulator... any hope to see it works?

With the rain of these days i've found my garage full of water...
Unfortunately the optishot was on the floor :\ and i think that it take some water on.
I've tried to connect to the computer but the computer doesn't recognize the pad.
I will wait some day in the hope that all the water go away from it...
    Any hope for me?
Or i can say good bye to it?
    Any experience on that?

Unfortunately trying to connect it wasnt probably the best idea.

Up to you but if it was me I would:

Disconnect the USB cable from the unit

Remove the turf top (ie take off the velcro attached turf.

Turn over the unit and remove the rubber tee holder

Remove the 4 screws from the base of the unit, and remove the top plastic cover

Place the base and the attached circuit board in a container full of rice and leave for 24 hours. this will draw all moisture away from the circuit board and into the rice.

If youve got some or can get some, could try cleaning the board down with some IsoPropylAlchol, (IPA) and a cue tip if the board looks dirty or scummy from the water getting in. Again allow to fully dry before reconnecting power.

Hopefully when you connected it the first time it was just shorting the power and it didn't fry any of the circuit board component.

If there was power to the unit when it got wet, you are probably screwed, if when you tried to reconnect after it got wet the board got fried you are screwed, however you might get lucky trying the above. Bare in mind doing this will void you warranty I would imagine, as you are undoing the screws on the base.

If it still doesn't work after drying out have a check on the circuit board and just see if there is any sort of fuse looking component. I don't think there is but cant fully remember.

    Hope you get lucky

Yeah, taking it apart and putting it in rice is definitely the best thing to do with electronics that get wet.

If it turns out that its broken. I would recommend contacting OptiShot. They said that they will sell Refurbished sensor pads for about $200 (no software included). So this could be your cheapest option if you find your device is broke. Good luck!

If the pieces fit....try a toaster oven on a very low setting.

I've used it plenty of times with phones.

            Ty all for your help.
I listened your advice, pick it up, and remove all the water from it (at least i've tried ).

And, for some reason that i ignore, this simulator doesn't want to die.
After like 24 hours it reborn... and works
